Objective:Based on computer software technology,an information management system called Stroke Prevention and Control Database is established in Gansu Province to store and analyze data on the high-risk population of stroke. Moreover, this system can provide the scientific basis for prevention and control of in Lanzhou area through analyzing the results of screening and risk factors for a high-risk population of stroke in Lanzhou urban and rural areas.Methods:1.The basic framework of the stroke prevention and control database registration form are formulated, including population stratification, basic information of residents, risk factors of stroke, diet etc..The data management system is based on the Windows operating platform, and SQL server 2005 is used as the underlying data management of the database,Java is used to program and achieve the various functions on the database.Therefore,4 categories of 5 forms are created, including login form, multiple query forms, modify forms, information browsing form, system administrator form etc.,This makes the management staff could achieve various functions of the database through the forms.2.Between 2015 and 2016,cluster sampling method was used to select 5341permanent residents age?40 years from the Linxia Road Community and San Jiaocheng township of Lanzhou City to complete face-to-face questionnaires, physical and laboratory examinations etc..The survey of high-risk population was registered and code and that information were filled in the established database. In addition, the screening results and the risk factors of the screening results of urban and rural stroke high-risk groups in Lanzhou were compared and analyzed, and Wilcoxon rank sum test and?~2 test were performed by SPSS 24.0 software.Results:1.The Stroke Prevention and Control Database in Gansu Province was established, which includes general information, stroke stratification, risk factors, test results, medication and diet and so on.The functions of this database are data input, query and retrieval, import and export, data backup and information management. The advantages of this database is the completed structure, convenience in application, smooth in operation, and benefit in data collection etc..2.There are 3796 urban residents among the 5341 screening residents,including982 people with high-risk of stroke(25.9%).Moreover,there are 1545 rural residents in the screening residents, including 281 people with high-risk of stroke(18.2%).Therefore,it can be seen from the data that the proportion of the high-risk population of stroke in the urban was higher than that in the rural areas(25.9%vs.18.2%),and their average age was older than that in the rural areas. The differences analyzed above were statistically significant(p<0.01).On the other hand, there were 661 males and602 females with high-risk of stroke, the detection rates of the interviewed population were 28.0%and 20.1%respectively.That's mean the detection rate of male high-risk population in Lanzhou was higher than that of females, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.05).The risk factor detection rate of high-risk population of stroke in Lanzhou area were successively:hypertension(70.7%),overweight(61.1%),lack of physical activity(60.5%),hyperlipidemia(55.9%),and smoking(40.0%),diabetes(27.2%),family history of stroke(26.8%),atrial fibrillation or valvular heart disease(4.6%).The proportion of people who has high-risk population of hyperlipidemia(63.6%),diabetes(32.1%),lack of physical activity(66.2%)and family history of stroke(29.8%)in urban high-risk population was significantly higher than that in rural areas(28.8%,10.3%,40.6%and 16.4%respectively).The proportion of interviewed population who is overweight or obesity(68.7%),previous stroke or transient ischemic attack(29.5%)in rural areas was higher than that of urban(59.0%,17.2%respectively),and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.01).However,there was no significant difference between urban and rural areas of hypertension, smoking, atrial fibrillation or valvular heart disease(p>0.05).There was no significant difference between the proportion of high-salt diet(57.7%vs 58.6%)and high-fat diet(18.1%vs 22.7%)(p>0.05)in urban and rural areas, and the proportion of lack of fruits(84.7%)and lack of vegetables(49.5%)in rural areas higher than urban(respectively62.6%,15.6%),and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.01).Conclusions:1.The online version of Stroke Prevention and Control Database in Gansu Province has various functions, such as data input, query and retrieval, import and export, data backup and information management. The database can store and manage information, data analysis of screening population, and it also can explore the etiology, risk factors and epidemiological characteristics of high-risk groups of stroke in Gansu Province. Therefore, the prevention and treatment measures for high-risk groups of stroke in Gansu Province were taken by the guide of this database.2.The proportion of the high-risk population in urban areas in Lanzhou is higher than that in rural areas, but the high-risk groups in rural areas are younger and the detection rate of male is higher. Therefore,it is necessary to publicize stroke prevention knowledge in rural areas and males. In addition, the proportion of high-risk population hyperlipidemia, diabetes, physical activity and stroke family history in urban was higher than that in rural areas. The proportion of overweight or obesity, past stroke or transient ischemic attack in rural areas was higher than that in urban areas. In conclusion, the corresponding health promotion or intervention measures should be adopted to reduce the incidence and recurrence rate of stroke according to regional differences in risk factors of stroke in Lanzhou.
