The present study aimed to explore the influence of mindfulness-based stress reduction training on subjective well-being of psychiatric nurses, and to examine the mediating role of psychological capital in mindfulness and subjective well-being.Purpose:First,explore the relationship between psychiatric nurses’ mindfulness, psychological capital and subjective well-being from a cross-sectional perspective. Then, the randomized repeated measurement design for experimental group and control group was employed to investigate whether the intervention of mindfulness-based stress reduction training on psychiatric nurses’ mindfulness, psychological capital and subjective well-being was effective. Methods:First,a stratified cluster sampling method was used to survey 205 psychiatric nurses from six mental hospitals in Shanxi Province. The Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, the Positive Psycap Questionnaire and the General Well-Being Schedule were used for investigation. Then,a random sampling method was used to select 80 people from psychiatric nurses working in a psychiatric hospital in Shanxi Province to enter the experimental group(n=40)and the control group(n=40).Among them,4 participants in the experimental group and 2 in the control group fell out.The psychiatric nurses of the experimental group added mindfulness-based stress reduction training on the basis of daily work, and the control group had simply daily work. The experimental components were carried out in four groups of 10 people each time, once a week for a total of 8 times, and the duration of each training wasone hour.Data from the two groups before and after the experiment were collected using the same measurement tool as Study one,and data was collected again from the experimental group one month after the end of the experiment to examine the continuity of the intervention effect.Result:1.Psychiatric nurses had a mindfulness of(122.20±9.15),a psychological capital of(120.22±20.68),and a subjective well-being of(76.23±10.87)points;2.Mindfulness was significantly different in education(F=3.619,P<0.05),marital status(t=2.831,P<0.05)and amateur activities(F=5.901,P<0.01),and psychological capital was significantly different in marital status(t=5.036,P<0.01)and in amateur activities(F=12.094,P<0.001).Subjective well-being was significantly different in education(F=5.513,P<0.01),marital status(t=3.931,P<0.01)and amateur activities(F=3.271,P<0.05);3.There was a positive correlation between mindfulness and psychological capital(r=0.559,P<0.01),and positive correlation with subjective well-being(r=0.415,P<0.01).Psychological capital was positively correlated with subjective well-being(r = 0.620,P<0.01);4.Psychological capital plays a complete intermediary role between mindfulness and subjective well-being.The mediating effect is 0.38.5.In the intra-group comparison, the experimental group was measured before and after the experiment(including one month later),and the difference was significant in mindfulness(F=8.371,P<0.001),psychological capital(F=6.330,P<0.01)and subjective well-being(F=15.108,P<0.001).Afterwards,it was found that the intervention effect of mindfulness and subjective well-being can last for one month, and the psychological capital is not significantly different from the previous test after one month. However, the control group had only significant differences in mindfulness(t=2.315,P<0.05),and the pretest was greater than the posttest;6.In the inter-group comparison, the difference between the experimental group and the control group was not significant in the pretest. But In the post-test,the difference in mindfulness(t=3.159,P<0.01)and subjective well-being(t=2.353,P<0.05)was significant. The difference in psychological capital was not significant;7.Comparing the difference value between the pretest and the post-test(?x),it was found that there was significant difference in mindfulness(t=4.358,P<0.001)and subjective well-being(t=3.425,P<0.01),and the difference in psychological capital difference value was not significant. There was a positive correlation between the difference value of mindfulness and psychological capital in the experimental group(r=0.598,P<0.01),and the difference value of mindfulness was also positively correlated with subjective well-being(r=0.655,P<0.01).The difference value of psychological capital and subjective well-being was positively correlated(r=0.637,P<0.01).The difference value of psychological capital plays a partial mediating role between the difference value of mindfulness and subjective well-being.The mediating effect is 0.22,accounting for 34.9% of the total effect.Conclusion:1.Psychiatric nurses have moderate levels of mindfulness, psychological capital and subjective well-being.2.There were significant differences in the total scores of psychiatric nurses’ mindfulness and subjective well-being in education background, marital status and amateur activities, and significant differences in psychological capital in marital status and amateur activities.3.There is a positive correlation between the total scores of mindfulness, psychological capital and subjective well-being of psychiatric nurses, and psychological capital plays a complete intermediary role between mindfulness and subjective well-being.4.Mindfulness-based stress reduction training helps to improve the mindfulness, psychological capital and subjective well-being of psychiatric nurses.Mindfulness-based stress reduction training can through eight weeks of practice training effectively promote the subjective well-being of psychiatric nurses, and after a month, mindfulness and subjective well-being is still significant in measurement, namely mindfulness-based stress reduction training can improve internal energy of psychiatric nurses, improve the psychological capital,so as to improve the subjectivewell-being.5.The pre-and post-measurement difference of psychological capital plays a partial mediating role between the difference value of mindfulness and subjective well-being.
