Chronic kidney disease has become an major disease which threatens human’s health. The results of the 2012 China Epidemiological Survey showed that the prevalence of chronic kidney disease in Chinese adults is currently 10.8%,totaling up to 120 million people,of which0.2% of patients progress to end stage renal disease(ESRD).Hemodialysis(HD)and peritoneal dialysis(PD)are two types of renal replacement therapy for ESRD patients, but continuous peritoneal/hemodialysis causes patients to bear a large economic and psychological burden. While we are trying to improve the therapeutic efficacy of dialysis patients,we should not ignore the mental health of patients.Mindfulness-based stress reduction(MBSR)as a psychological intervention in the 1970 s is gradually being applied to improve negative emotions in clinical patients in order to improve patient compliance and treatment efficacy. At present, the research on the use of MBSR in the field of chronic diseases in China is still at an initial stage. Some scholars have found that MBSR in patients with chronic pain, breast cancer, gastric cancer, and coronary heart disease after PCI mainly plays an important role in improving patient mood, improving well-being index, improving sleep quality, and increasing immune function. Our study is a prospective, clinical controlled,open-label trial,in which 165 patients(103 in the peritoneal dialysis group and 62 in thehemodialysis group)with chronic kidney disease requiring peritoneal/hemodialysis were included and randomly divided into experimental and control groups, and patients in the experimental group were treated with mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy. Before and after the intervention, psychological status assessment and disease-related clinical data collection were performed on all patients using the Psychological Anxiety Self-Rating Scale/Self-Rating Depression Scale, and statistical analysis was performed on the collected data using spss17.0.The following conclusions were drawn:1.Mindfulness decompression therapy can significantly improve the emotional state and quality of life of patients, and improve the degree of anxiety/depression.2.The course of mindfulness-based stress reduction had no significant effect on blood pressure, electrolyte levels, serum creatinine clearance, urine volume, serum albumin and other clinical parameters in dialysis patients, but it seemed to improve hemoglobin levels, relief anemia status, and stabilize serum phosphorus levels in patients.3.Mindful stress reduction therapy may improve the patient’s disease outcome to a certain extent, delay the patient’s disease progression, and improve the patient’s overall survival by improving patient compliance and building patient confidence in treatment.
