Objective:To evaluate the effects of deep breathing trainer on exercise endurance, quality of life and lung function in patients with moderate to severe stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),and to explore its application value in pulmonary rehabilitation(PR)in patients with COPD,Methods:A total of sixty stable COPD patients who were admitted to the outpatient department of respiratory medicine of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University or discharged after improved hospitalization from July 2017 to July 2018 were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, thirty patients in each group. The control group received conventional drug treatment;the observation group used the deep breathing trainer for pulmonary rehabilitation training(fifteen to twenty minutes each time, two times a day)on the basis of conventional drug therapy After two months,six-minute walk distance(6MWD),the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test(CAT)score, the ratio of forced expiratory volume to forced vital capacity in the first second(FEVi1/FVC)and forced expiratory volume in the first second as a percentage of predicted value(FEVi%pred)were compared between the two groups. Results:In this study, after two months, the two indexes of 6MWD and FEV1%pred in the observation group were significantly greater than th,ose before treatment and in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).CAT score of patients in the observation group was significantly lower than those before treatment and in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant improvement in FEV1/FVC in the observation group compared with that before treatment or in the control group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The 6MWD,CAT score,FEV1/FVC and FEV1%/pred in the control group had no significant difference before and after treatment(P>0.05).ConclusionsPulmonary rehabilitation training using the deep breathing trainer can improve exercise tolerance, quality of life, and lung function in patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
