Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Shouyi Tongbian Recipe in treating functional constipation of Qi-Yin deficiency type in middle-aged and old people,and to provide a new treatment idea and method for this disease.METHODS: According to the criteria of inclusion and exclusion,80 elderly patients with functional constipation due to deficiency of both qi and Yin were enrolled in the Anorectal Clinic of Hebei Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March to December 2018.They were randomly divided into two groups: control group(lactulose group)and treatment group(Shouyi Tongbian Fang group).There were 40 patients in each group.One course of treatment(14days)was given to the two groups.Use any interventional treatment.Observation indicators after drug withdrawal:(1)changes in the main clinical symptom scores of patients before and after treatment;(2)changes in the secondary clinical symptom scores of patients before and after treatment.The above data were recorded accurately and authentically,and the relevant data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0 statistical software,and the results were obtained.Results:1.The age,sex and course of disease of the two groups were analyzed by SPSS 22.0.The results were all P > 0.05.There was no statistical difference and there was comparability.2.Clinical effective rate: 40 cases in the treatment group,7 cases were cured,15 cases were markedly effective,15 cases were effective,3 cases were ineffective,the total effective rate was 92.5%;40 cases in the control group,9cases were cured,12 cases were markedly effective,14 cases were effective,5cases were ineffective,the total effective rate was 87.5%.After treatment,therewas no significant difference between the two groups by Chi-square test(P >0.05),indicating that the efficacy of the two drugs was similar.3.Main clinical symptoms score: before treatment,there was no statistical difference in clinical symptoms score(P > 0.05),after treatment,the main clinical symptoms score of the two groups were improved(P < 0.001),but the treatment group was more effective in improving the frequency of defecation and the sense of effort in defecation(P < 0.01,P < 0.001),and could significantly improve the total score of main clinical symptoms(P < 0.001).4.Secondary clinical symptom score: Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the scores of secondary clinical symptoms in each group(P > 0.05).After treatment,the scores of secondary clinical symptoms were improved in both groups(P < 0.001),but the effect of treatment group was more significant in improving abdominal distension,dry mouth and pharynx,five upset fever(P < 0.001,P < 0.01,P < 0.001),and the total scores of secondary clinical symptoms could be significantly improved(P < 0.001).5.Safety: Before and after treatment,patients were examined and tested,and the results were not abnormal.During the period of taking medicine,there was 1case of mild abdominal pain in the control sugar group,which was relieved after rest.After examination,there was no relationship between taking medicine and other adverse reactions.Conclusions:1.Both Shouyi Tongbian Recipe and Lactofructose can improve the main and secondary clinical symptoms of patients,and the curative effect is comparable.2.The Shouyi Tongbian Formula group was superior to the lactulose group in improving the main clinical symptoms(defecation frequency and laborious defecation)and secondary clinical symptoms(abdominal distension,dry mouth and throat,five upset fever).3.Compared with lactulose group,Shouyi Tongbian Formula group has lessclinical side effects.4.Shouyi Tongbian Prescription provides a new treatment idea and method for functional constipation of Qi-Yin deficiency type in middle-aged and old people.
