Background:People's growing demands for health has placed higher requirements on the education of medical postgraduates. Not only the enrollment scale of medical postgraduates has been expanding, but the competition in study and employment has become increasingly fierce, with the learning pressure and psychological burden of medical postgraduates being increasing continuously. With the reform of the medical postgraduate education, academic and professional medical graduate students have come into the "diversion" training. There is a certain difference between the two types of medical graduate students in learning difficulties and burden. If the medical graduate students cannot properly deal with the pressure and frustration from studies and life exhausted for a long time,it may seriously affect the enthusiasm of medical graduate students, easily form learning burnout, and even develop into mental problems such as depression and anxiety, which will seriously affect the physical and mental health of medical graduate students. Objective:To investigate the status and influencing factors of learning burnout of clinical medical graduate students, and to compare the difference of learning burnout between medical academic and professional graduate students, and to provide scientific basis for preventing and intervening burnout of clinical medical graduates. Methods:In this study, literature analysis was first used to review the status, background and progress of learning burnout of medical graduate student.Questionnaire on the learning burnout and its' cause of medical graduate students was designed, and was conducted among 450 full-time academic and professional medical postgraduate students in a medical university,to obtain their basic information, status and influencing factors of learning burnout. After finishing the questionnaire, excel software was used to sort out and input the questionnaire data.SPSS 20.0 software was used to conduct descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, variance analysis, regression analysis and other statistical methods for the data.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. To compare the differences between academic and professional graduate students in learning burnout, and to clarify the relationship between the causes and the degree of learning burnout.Results:1)A total of 450 questionnaires were distributed,412 questionnaires were recovered, and 397 effective questionnaires were obtained, with an effective recovery rate of 96.4%.The overall learning burnout of clinical medical graduate students was 61.15±4.02,with 68.00% of students having mild learning burnout or above.Female postgraduate students show more serious learning burnout than male postgraduate students in items of misconduct and total score of learning burnout. The items of misconduct and total score of learning burnout in urban students were higher than that of rural students.2)Academic graduate students have higher score of learning burnout than that of professional graduate students in the item of low sense of achievement.Among the 244 academic postgraduates, the total score of learning burnout was 61.27±4.04,with 68.44% of them having mild learning burnout or above. The items of emotional exhaustion, misconduct, and total learning burnout scores in female students were higher than that of the male students, and the item of misconduct in rural students was higher than that of the urban students.Among the 153 professional postgraduates, the total score of learning burnout was 60.63±3.95,with 66.07% of them having mild learning burnout or above. The item of misconduct in rural students was higher than that of the urban students.3)The degree of learning burnout was compared in the subgroups with same demographic variables between academic and professional postgraduates. The score of emotional exhaustion in male professional postgraduates was higher than that of male academic postgraduates. The scores of misconduct, low sense of achievement and total learning burnout scores in female academic postgraduates were higher than that of female professional postgraduates. The score of misconduct in major un-transferred academic postgraduates was higher than that of major un-transferred professional postgraduates.Academic graduate students without work experience scored higher in the low sense of achievement than professional graduate students without work experience.Among the students from urban, the score of emotional exhaustion in professional postgraduates was higher than that of academic postgraduate.Among the students from rural, the score of low sense of achievement in academic postgraduates was higher than that of professional postgraduates.4)The scores of emotional exhaustion was positively correlated with four factors, including personal factors, interpersonal factors, career prospects, and school factors in academic medical graduate students(P<0.01).The scores of misconduct dimensions of academic medical graduate students are positively correlated with personal factors(P<0.01).The score of low sense of achievement of academic medical graduate students was positively correlated with personal factors, and interpersonal factors(P<0.05).The total score of learning burnout was positively correlated with personal factors, interpersonal factors, career prospects and school factors(P<0.05).The results of regression analysis showed that personal factors and school factors have a positive predictive effect on emotional exhaustion. The career prospects and school factors had positive effect on the total score of learning burnout. The career prospects and family factors had no significant effect on emotional exhaustion.Personal factors and school factors had no significant effect on misconduct.Personal factors had no significant effect on misconduct. There was a positive correlation between the scores of professional postgraduates' emotional exhaustion and personal factors and school factors(P<0.05).The results of regression analysis showed that Personal factors and school factors had positive predictive effects on emotional exhaustion.Family factors had a positive effect on the total score of learning burnout. Conclusion:Mild learning burnout was common among medical postgraduates, and the score of learning burnout in female students is higher than that of in male students. There are differences in phenotypes, demographic variables(gender, place of origin, professional adjustment)and causes of learning burnout between academic and professional postgraduates. In the process of postgraduate training, targeted intervention measures should be formulated according to the differences of learning burnout.
