Shanxi Medical University, Master Of The Status Of Graduate Quality Of Life And Its Influencing Factors

Objective To investigate the quality of life state and its related factors for graduate students in Shanxi Medical University and to provide scientific basis for formulating policies to improve their quality of lives.Methods One hundred graduate students were randomly selected from each grade.Possible factors were collected and WHO QOL-BREF measured the quality of life.Then the quality of life state was studied.Multiple and logistic regression were used to identify significant factors related to the scores of physical,psychological,social,environmental domain and total.Structure equation model was tried to explore the relationship between the factors and the four domains.Results We got 285 validated from 300 questionnaires with answering rate 95.0%.The mean scores of physical,psychological,social and environmental domain were 14.87±1.98, 14.07±2.12,14.63±2.25 and 12.06±2.27,and the total score was 55.62±6.63.Two hundred and forty two(79.3%) students had 'average','good' or 'pretty good' feelings of their own quality of life.Two hundred and forty one(84.2%) students had 'average','good' or 'pretty good' feelings of their own health state.The mean score of self-judgment of quality of life was 78.5±11.4 with minimum 40 and maximum 99.Single factor analysis found that gender, employment prospect,employment pressure,satisfaction with scientific research or study,the time on internet every week,condition of life,incomes of family,study pressure,sports of every week,marital status,educational level of father,hobbies,health status,family trouble and appetite were correlated with most of physical,psychological,social and environmental domain. Based on multiple linear regression analysis,the ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with physical domain were family trouble,grade,health status,major satisfaction and appetite. The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with psychological domain were major satisfaction,sports of every week,satisfaction with scientific research or study,health status, employment prospect and appetite.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with social domain were appetite,satisfaction with scientific research or study and major satisfaction.The ranked factors from strong to weak correlated with environmental domain were study pressure, grade,satisfaction with scientific research or study,gender,appetite,incomes of family, condition of life,health status and employment prospect.Based on logistic regression analysis, the factors correlated with the total score were health status,marital status,satisfaction with scientific research or study,appetite,employment prospect and major satisfaction.Structure equation model analysis showed that the model fit was good(chi-square=1569.47,P<0.05). Conclusion The quality of life for graduate students in Shanxi Medical University was preferably.Many factors were correlated with the scores of physical,psychological,social, environmental domain and total.Corresponding health policies could be developed to improve their quality of life.
