Objective:To introduce a good reliability and validity of fall risk self-evaluation tools and fall prevention health education videos into the APP,and to assess APP’s effect on hospitalized patient’s compliance with fall prevention, and measures the incidence of falls in elderly. Methods:This study was a quasi-experimental study, selected objects by non-probability purpose sampling method. The statistical software SPSS20.0 generated random numbers and performed randomized grouping according to the order of enrollment. The experimental group patients downloaded the APP,conducted a self-assessment scale of elderly patients at risk, watched the health care education video,5 minutes each time, and participated the process of fall prevention strategies made, and gain other routine care measures. We had collected demographic data and patient compliance of fall prevention programs, numbers of patient falls.Data were analyzed by SPSS version 20.Results:Among 146 elderly people,84 patients(57.5%)were male,62 patients(42.5%)were female, and the mean age of the patients was 76.9±7.4 years, the day of hospital stay was 10.85±3.176,fall risk screen score on admission were 8.79±3.795.After t-test and chi-square test, the general data of two groups were comparable, except for using assistive devices.1.Compared two group’s compliance on fall prevention programs. There was statistically significant difference(P<0.05)in compliance of prevent falls as follows: patients should sit down when they wear the socks, shoes and pants. They should ask for help when leave the bed,use the handrails in the bathroom/room / corridor. They should place the glasses, cups in safety and accessibility scope(P<0.001).They should use bed stalls during rests, lock the wheelchair wheels when stop, use lights at night(P<0.05).2.Compared the incidence of falls in the two groups. It was no significant difference in the incidence of falls between the two groups(P>0.05).But the number of people who had fell in intervention group were less than control group.3.Analyzed the influence factors of compliance.Single factor logistic regression analysis was used to screen the variables.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that: For the patient compliance of wearing a non-slip,comfortable shoes, intervention and pre-retirement occupation for farmers were influenced factors(P<0.05).For the patient compliance of sitting when wear shoes or pants, intervention, the highest education, cost of living were influenced factors(P<0.05).For the patient compliance of getting out of bed with assisted, intervention and used a walker were influenced factors(P<0.05).For the patient compliance of using handrails, intervention, length of hospitalization, living together with housemaid were influenced factors(P<0.05).For the patient compliance of necessary item placement, intervention was an influenced factor(P<0.05).For the patient compliance of using bed stalls during rest, intervention was an influenced factor(P<0.05).For the patient compliance of locking the wheelchair when was still at rest, the intervention(P=0.017),and history of falls were influenced factor(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Patient participation model based on “APP” could improve the compliance of elderly hospitalized patients with fall prevention programs, but could not reduce the incidence of falls.2.For the patient compliance of necessary item placement, the patient compliance of using bed stalls during rest intervention was the only influenced factor.3.For the patient compliance of wearing a non-slip,comfortable shoes, sitting when wear shoes or pants, getting out of bed with assisted, using bed stalls during rest, locking the wheelchair when was still at rest,intervention,pre-retirement occupation, the highest education, cost of living, walker, length of hospitalization, spouse status, living conditions, fall history were influenced factors.
