| Objectives:To investigate the correlation between cadmium pollution and type 2 diabetes by investigating the cross section of heavy metal cadmium pollution and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes in different towns of Nanchang. Methods:From February to December in 2017,The endocrinology research group of the Third affiliated hospital of Nanchang university conducted a cross-sectional epidemiological survey on The eastern district of Nanchang and JinXian county.Stratified random cluster sampling method was adopted to conduct questionnaire survey, physical examination and laboratory test on local permanent residents who had lived for at least 5 years and were aged ≥18 years. The content of heavy metal cadmium in blood and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes were analyzed, and the correlation between blood cadmium level and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus were analyzed.Results:1.The heavy metal cadmium content of residents in Nanchang area is relatively high. The average blood cadmium level of the total population is(2.91±0.08)ug/L.2.The prevalence rate of Type 2 diabetes among residents in Nanchang was 9.2%.The prevalence of hypertension was 35.7% and the prevalence of hyperlipidemia was 26.1%.3.There was a statistical difference between the percentage of high blood cadmium level of residents in Jinxian county and the prevalence of type 2 diabetes(P < 0.05);4.Multivariate analysis of the prevalence of type 2 diabetes in Jinxian county shows that high blood cadmium level is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes: high blood cadmium rate increases, and the risk of type 2 diabetes increases [OR(95%CI)=1.840(1.130,3.027)].Conclusions:1.The blood cadmium content of residents in Nanchang was at a high level;2.Residents in Nanchang have a high prevalence of type 2 diabetes;3.High blood cadmium level in human may be one of the risk factors of type 2 diabetes, and the exposure to heavy metal cadmium should be avoided in daily life. |
