| Objectives The study attempts to understand the prevalence and main influencing factors of type 2 diabetes in Tangshan through investigation and analysis of the current status of type 2 diabetes in adult residents in Tangshan, and to provide scientific evidence for further study of type 2 diabetes in the population, formulating feasible disease control measures and health education plans. Methods Based on the special survey of chronic diseases and their risk factors in Tangshan,11475 individuals who were permanent residents and over 18 years old in Tangshan were recruited in this study during January 2018 to December 2018.All participants were selected by stratified random sampling methods.Data were collected by questionnaire surveys and physical examinations. After entered all data into SPSS software, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose were calculated and logistic regression model was used to analyze the possible influencing factors for type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose. Results 1 10510 questionnaires were valid, and the answer rate was 91.6%.There are 5740 men and 4770 women, with average age 47.05±15.50.2 The prevalence of type 2 diabetes in residents over 18 years old in Tangshan was 9.41%,and it increased with age.The prevalence of type 2 diabetes in men was 10.02%(standardized prevalence: 9.45%),which was 8.68%(standardized prevalence: 9.46%)in women, and there was no significant difference between men and women. In participants with age less than 65 years, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes gradually increased, while in those great than 65 years old,the prevalence showed a downward trend, and there was a statistically significant difference among the ages.3 The total prevalence of impaired fasting glucose in residents over 18 years old in Tangshan was 7.89%,and it increased with age.The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose in men was 8.59%(standardized prevalence: 8.08%),which was 7.00%(standardized prevalence: 7.40%)in women. The standardized prevalence of men is higher than that of women, and the difference was statistically significant. In participants with age less than 65 years old,the prevalence of impaired fasting glucose gradually increased, while in those great than 65 years old,the prevalence showed a downward trend, and there was a statistically significant difference among the ages.4 The prevalence of type 2 diabetes in urban population was 13.58%,which was 7.33% in county population. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes in mountain area was 8.57%,which was 8.65% in plain area, and 5.00% in coastal area. There were statistically significant differences in the prevalence of type 2 diabetes among people in different geographical regions.5 The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose in urban population was 10.95%,which was 6.36% in county population. The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose in mountain area was 9.56%,which was 6.55% in plain area, and 3.59% in coastal area. There were statistically significant differences in the prevalence of impaired fasting glucose among people in different geographical regions.6 Univariate analysis: smoking, drinking, body mass index, hypertension, dyslipidemia, family history of diabetes, physical activity and other factors were related to type 2 diabetes, the difference were statistically significant;body mass index, hypertension and dyslipidemia were associated with impaired fasting glucose, and the differences were statistically significant.7 Multivariate analysis: by multivariate unconditional logistic stepwise regression analysis,we found that age, body mass index, family history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia, and urban-rural differences were the influencing factors of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose; With increasing age and body mass index, the risk of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose increases; The risk of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose increased in participants with a family history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes; The prevalence of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose in the urban population was higher than that in the county population. After stratifying by gender, the age, body mass index, family history of diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia were the influencing factors of type 2 diabetes in the men,and age, body mass index, hypertension and dyslipidemia were the influencing factors of impaired fasting glucose. In women, age, body mass index, family history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, physical exercise and urban-rural factors were the influencing factors of type 2 diabetes, and age, hypertension, education level,urban-rural factors were the influencing factors of impaired fasting glucose. Conclusions 1 Prevalence and characteristics distribution:(1)The prevalence of type 2 diabetes in residents over 18 years old in Tangshan was 9.41%,and it increased with age. There was no statistics difference for the standardized prevalence between men and women.(2)The total prevalence of impaired fasting glucose in residents over 18 years old in Tangshan was 7.89%,and it increased with age.The prevalence of impaired fasting glucose in men was higher than that of women.(3)The prevalence of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose in urban area was higher than that in country area.2 Analysis of influencing factors: age, body mass index, family history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and urban-rural factors were the influencing factors of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose. There were differences in the influencing factors of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose between different genders.3 The prevalence of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose were different among people in different administrative regions and geographical regions, these suggested that it is imperative for us to carry out the prevention and control of diabetes in Tangshan. At the same time, according to the influencing factors of type 2 diabetes and impaired fasting glucose in Tangshan,we should formulate targeted and suitable prevention and control measures.Table 17;Reference
