Objective: To provide a theoretical basis for improving the effect of epilepsy treatment,we study the influence factors that affect parental anxiety and treatment adherence, and explore the relationship between them from both the sides of children and their parents. Methods: 110 cases of children with epilepsy who were admitted to the inpatient and outpatient of department of pediatrics of Fujian Provincial Hospital from August 2017 to February 2018.We collected the basic information of those children and their parents including parent's gender, age, nationality, marital status, religious belief, occupation, education level and monthly income,as well as the patient's gender, age, duration for treatment, family composition, medical insurance, the type of anti-epilepsy drug, stages of treatment, the number of seizures, seizure frequency,EEG and MRI examination results and so on.The Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)was used to assess the degree of anxiety.Meanwhile we used Morisky Questionnaire to evaluate the treatment adherence.Various statistical methods were used to analyze all the data, including descriptive statistics, single factor logistic regression analysis, multiple classification logistic regression analysis, correlation coefficient, gamma dependent coefficient, collinearity diagnosis, multivariate ordinal logistic regression to analyze the results.Results:(1)In the survey, there were 80 people without anxiety(72.7%),24 people with mild anxiety(21.8%),5 people with moderate anxiety(4.5%),and only 1 person with severe anxiety(0.9%).Most of parents(74 people,67.3%)have good treatment adherence, while only 36 people(32.7%)have poor treatment adherence.(2)The three factors, which include family monthly income,EEG results, and the stage of treatment, have a significant influence on the degree of anxiety(P<0.05).As an unimportant influence factors(P=0.09)in the multivariate ordinal regression calculation, however, seizure frequency is an important factor in the process of single factor regression calculation(P< 0.05).It's because the quantity of the samples in this study may affect it.Therefore,we still retain seizure frequency as the factor which could affect the parental anxiety.(3)EEG results and treatment stage two factors had significant influence on the treatment adherence(P < 0.05);(4)The degree of anxiety was the related factors of treatment adherence(?2=50.463,P < 0.01),and both were positively correlated(C=0.555,P< 0.01),the higher the degree of anxiety, the treatment adherence is worse. Conclusion: Family monthly income,EEG examination results, treatment stage and seizure frequency were important factors to cause the different degree of parental anxiety.Treatment adherence was related to the EEG outcomes and treatment stage. The degree of anxiety was significantly related to the treatment adherence the higher the degree of anxiety, the treatment adherence was worse.
