Clinical Observation Of Tongyuan Acupuncture In Treating The Facial Paralysis With Qi Dificiency And Blood Stasis Syndrome

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Tongyuan acupuncture in treating the facial paralysis with qi dificiency and blood stasis syndrome,and to explore a curative effect and feasible treatment method of the refractory facial paralysis.Methods:60 facial paralysis patients with qi dificiency and blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated with Tongyuan acupuncture and the Chinese Traditional Medicine “ Buyanghuanwu Decoction with Powder for Treating Face-Distortion”,while the control group received conventional acupuncture and the Chinese Traditional Medicine “Buyanghuanwu Decoction with Powder for Treating Face-Distortion”.The change of the House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Grading Systems and Portmann’s Simple Scale were observed in the two groups before and after treatment.After the study,the date were andlyzed by statistical methods.Results:There was no significant difference(p>0.05)between the two groups in terms of gender,age,course of disease,the House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Grading Systems grade and Portmann’s Simple Scale score before the treatment.After the treatment,the House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Grading Systems grade and Portmann’s Simple Scale score in the two groups were better those before the treatment.After treatment,there were statisticallysignificant differences(p<0.05)in the House-Brackmann Facial Nerve Grading Systems grade and Portmann’s Simple Scale score between the two groups,and the more obvious improvement of the related indexes in the treatment group.In the treatment group,10 cases were cured,13 cases were markedly effective,4 cases were improved and 2 cases were ineffective,while the recovery rate was 34.48%,the recovery rate was 79.34%,the total effective rate was 93.10% and the invalid rate was 6.9%.And in the control group,6 cases were cured,6 cases were markedly effective,4 cases were improved and 12 cases were ineffective,while the recovery rate was 21.43%,the recovery rate was 42.86%,the total effective rate was 57.14% and the invalid rate was 42.86%.There were statisticallysignificant differences(p<0.05)in the overall efficacy between the two goups.Conclusion:Combination of acupuncture with the Chinese Traditional Medicine has a certain clinical effect on the facial paralysis patients with qi dificiency and blood stasis syndrome.There was a better clinical effect of using Tongyuan acupuncture in the refractory facial paralysis patients with qi dificiency and blood stasis syndrome.Tongyuan acupuncture can effectively improving clinical symptoms,improve the nerve repair,shorten disease course and safe without side effect.
