Purpose: To explore the difference and regularity of sleep parameters between insomnia, heart and spleen deficiency syndrome and liver-qi stagnation and fire syndrome, and to further enrich and perfect the theoretical research on the classification of insomnia, heart and spleen deficiency syndrome and liver-qi stagnation and fire syndrome.Method: The case group came from the sleep center clinic of the affiliated hospital of Changchun university of traditional Chinese medicine.from January 2017 to January 2018,the outpatients were diagnosed as insomnia. The diagnostic criteria refer to the " diagnostic and curative effect standard for TCM diseases and syndromes" promulgated by the department of health and administration of state administration of traditional Chinese medicine, and the classification criteria refer to the " internal medicine of TCM"(2002 edition edited by Tian Delu),the guiding principles for clinical experiments on the treatment of insomnia with new Chinese medicines, and other relevant documents.40 cases of deficiency of both heart and spleen and 40 cases of liver depression and fire syndrome were randomly selected. The above 80 subjects were monitored for polysomnography, and sleep related parameters were collected to analyze and compare the differences and regularity between insomnia, heart and spleen deficiency syndrome and liver depression and fire syndrome related sleep parameters.Result: Parameters of sleep structure: the two groups had obvious differences in awakening times and sleep latency.the number of awaking times in the group of deficiency of heart and spleen was higher than that in the group of stagnation of liver-qi and transformation of fire, while the latency in the group of stagnation of liver-qi and transformation of fire was longer than that in the group of deficiency of heart and spleen. There was no significant difference in total sleep time and sleep efficiency between the two groups.Parameters of sleep process: non-rapid eye movement time(nrem)and n3 periods in the two groups, liver depression and fire elimination group were longer than those in the heart and spleen deficiency group. There was no significant difference in rem,n1,N2 and n1 N2 between the two groups. Conclusion: There were significant differences and correlations in the parameters of polysomnography between the two groups of patients with insomnia, liver depression and fire and deficiency of both heart and spleen, and the correlations were consistent with the clinical characteristics of their respective syndrome types. It can be considered that the polysomnography parameters provide quantitative basis for the syndrome differentiation and classification of insomnia with deficiency of both heart and spleen and stagnation of liver-qi and transformation of fire, and provide new diagnostic ideas for the treatment of insomnia with deficiency of both heart and spleen and stagnation of liver-qi and transformation of fire in traditional Chinese medicine.
