Clinical Study Of Catgut Implanting At Acupoint Combined With Electro-Acupuncture For Simple Obesity

Objective:To explore the effectiveness of catgut implanting at acupoint and electro-acupuncture for the treatment of simple obesity.This study adopts the method of randomized controlled studies,Catgut implanting at acupoint combined with electro-acupuncture and electro-acupuncture alone as control,observation of 72 cases of simple obesity patients before and after treatment of body weight,body mass index(BMI),waist circumference,hip circumference,thigh circumference,upper arm circumference.Methods: All the cases in this study were from June 2016 to June 2017 in the second hospital of Dalian medical univercity.The diagnosis was diagnosed as simple obesity.In this study,72 patients were randomly selected to meet the requirements of the ethics committee of the second hospital of Dalian medical univercity,and the informed consent and voluntary participation in this study were conducted.During the entire observation and treatment,2 patients were excluded from the treatment of the second course of treatment,70 cases were effective,35 of them were male and 35 were female.Age minimum 18 years,maximum 55 years old.Patients were randomly divided into two groups,respectively,the treatment group(catgut implanting at acupoint combined with electro-acupuncture group)and catgut implanting at acupoint 1time every 2 weeks,1 for a period of treatment,combined with electro-acupuncture 5times a week,10 times for a period of treatment,treatment of three consecutive period of treatment.The control group(pure electro-acupuncture group)was treated with electro-acupuncture 5 times a week,10 times for one course of treatment and three consecutive treatments.To pay attention to the normalization of acupoint embeddingand acupuncture treatment operation,to make correct education to patients during treatment,and to explain the healthy diet and exercise of the patients.At the end of the three sessions,the results were evaluated.The body weight,waist circumference,hip circumference,thigh circumference,upper arm circumference,body mass index(BMI)were observed before and after treatment.The collected data were analyzed by SPSS23.0 statistical software,and P<0.05 indicated that the difference was statistically significant.To evaluate the clinical efficacy of catgut implanting at acupoint and electro-acupuncture for the treatment of simple obesity.Results:1.There was no significant difference in gender,age,course of disease and TCM syndrome distribution in the two groups(P<0.05),indicating that there was comparability between the two groups.2.After treatment,there was a significant decrease in all obesity indexes in the two groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01,P<0.05).3.The catgut implanting at acupoint combined with electro-acupuncture group in hip circumference,upper arm circumference,thigh circumference in the decline in value compared with pure electro-acupuncture group differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),waist circumference,body weight,body mass index(BMI)decline in value compared with electro-acupuncture group with significant statistical difference(P<0.01).4.The catgut implanting at acupoint combined with electro-acupuncture group was better than the simple electro-acupuncture group(P<0.05)in total efficiency,and the difference was statistically significant.During the three courses of treatment,patients not present any exceptions,all the vital signs appear no treatment,infection and other adverse reactions,pull out the needle acupuncture after skin does not appear red,a few patients with subcutaneous hemorrhage.None of the patients had any dependence or sequelae.Most patients have improved sleep quality and regular bowel movements.Conclusion:1.The therapeutic effect of catgut implanting at acupoint and electro-acupuncture on the treatment of simple obesity is better than that of simple electroacupuncture group.2.The catgut implanting at acupoint combined with electro-acupuncture therapy improved the waist circumference,body weight,body mass index(BMI)of the patients,and the comparison with the simple electro-acupuncture group was significantly different(P<0.01).
