Objective1.To investigate the level of stigma and analyze the influencing factors of patients with stroke in recovery.2.To describe the status of quality of life and examine the influencing factors of recovery phase of apoplectics.3.To explore the correlation between stigma and quality of life of patients in restoration stage of stroke.MethodFrom April 2017 to September 2017,252 patients with stroke in recovery from three hospitals in Chengdu were recruited in this cross-sectional survey.Sociodemographic and clinical data were collected using some background and disease-related questionnaire, the Stigma Scale for Chronic Illness, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-abbreviated version questionnaire.Epidata 3.0 and SPSS 21.0 were used for statistical analysis.Results1.Level and influencing factors of stigmaThe total score of the stigma was(45.61±9.68),score of self-stigma was(27.38±6.38),score of enacted stigma was(18.23±4.20).Univariate analysis showed total stigma was significantly related to educational level, marital status, smoking, type of care, family income, payment manner of the medical expenses, frequency of attacks, whether the acute phase was treated in time and complications(P<0.05).Multiple regression analysis revealed that educational level, marital status, smoking, type of care, family income, payment manner of the medical expenses, frequency of attacks were main factors of total score of SSCI,which explained 15.4% of the variance;educational level, marital status, smoking, type of care, family income and frequency of attacks were main factors of self-stigma,which explained 15.0% of the variance;educational level, marital status, payment manner of the medical expenses and whether the acute phase was treated in time were main factors of enacted stigma, which explained 8.8% of the variance.2.Level and influencing factors of quality of lifeThe total score of the QOL was(76.91±11.78),score of subjective feeling of QOL was(3.05±0.84),score of subjective feeling of health was(3.10±0.87),score of physiological field was(11.02±2.28),score of psychological field was(12.04±2.04),score of social relations field was(12.32±2.49),and score of environmental field was(11.92±2.08).Univariate analysis showed quality of life was significantly related to gender, educational level, marital status, type of care, payment manner of the medical expenses, the pathological type, aphasia and complications(P<0.05).Multiple regression analysis revealed that educational level, type of care, payment manner of the medical expenses, the pathological type, aphasia and stigma were main factors of quality of life which explained 25.4% of the variance.3.Correlation analysis results showed the total score of stigma and each domain were negatively correlated with the total score of QOL and each domain(r=-0.147~-0.374,P<0.05).Conclusion1.The stigma of recovery phase of apoplectics was in medium level, and patients suffered more from self-stigma than from enacted stigma.2.The main influencing factors of stigma include: educational level, marital status, smoking, type of care, family income, payment manner of the medical expenses, frequency of attacks, whether the acute phase was treated in time.3.The quality of life of patients with stroke in recovery was decreased;the scores of physiological, psychological, social relations and environmental fields were lower than the national norm.4.The quality of life of patients with stroke in recovery was affected by educational level, type of care, payment manner of the medical expenses, the pathological type, aphasia and stigma.5.The stigma of patients with cerebral apoplexy was negatively correlated with the quality of life, those with higher stigma had a bad life.
