Anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)injury is the most common sport injury of the knee joint and ACL reconstruction is the gold standard surgical treatment.Although most patients get good results in the short term after ACL reconstrction, its follow-up in the long-term in degeneration of cartilage is not yet confirmed. Therefore, the ACL reconstruction remains controversial in many ways, such as the timing of reconstruction, surgical approach, graft selection, operative techniques, fixation methods of the graft, rehabilitation after surgery, and complications after surgery. Most surgeons prefer early ACL reconstruction after an ACL injury,ACL reconstruction has turned an open to arthroscopic procedure, autografts are still the first choice of graft in primary ACL reconstruction, anatomical ACL reconstruction has been accepted by more surgeons,a preferred fixation method is the suspensory method of fixation at the femoral site and the interference fixation at the tibial site, accelerated rehabilitation after surgery is becoming the key point to the operation, complications after surgery have relationships to graft, surgical technique and the patient's activity. This paper aims to review the main factors influencing ACL reconstruction, and provide new ideas for clinical work.
