| Objective:To understand the current problems on health-care associated infection prevention of the Biohazard Waste room by investigating the layout of building,equipment,cleaning and management of the thirty-five hospitals in Wuhu.Explore a model of management which can be accepted extensively and accumulate more evidence for the infection control in hospital environment in the worldMethods:In this study,action research method was used from November 2016 to December 2017 and Includes the following sections:(1).The problem raised by the study that what are the risk factors of biohazard waster on health-care associated infection prevention was analyzed through the literature research and Interview research.(2).We choose two departments’s Representative biohazard waste rooms,include Gastrointestinal surgery 1 and Medical Oncology 1.A feasible management model was build through investigating the baseline levels of the bacteria existing in the air and object surface,the qualified rate of fluorescent labeling,the hand hygiene compliance of medical personnel,in the two biohazard waste rooms.(3).A revision was made for the constructed model by expert meeting.(4).A plan of the model was made and taken implementation.(5).The effect of the action was observed and the results were reflected.The chi-square test,pair T test and correlation analysis was performed and SPSS 18.0 was used for statistical analysis.P<0.05 for the difference was statistically significant.Results:1.The current problems of biohazard waste room include the following sections:(1)the absence of agreed standard of biohazard waste room.(2)without clean-dirt partition.(3)disinfection facilities are not perfect.(4)the lack of management system.(5)medical personnel’s consciousness of preventing nosocomial infection is week.2.Our research has demonstrated that the bacteria existing in the air in biohazard waste room and treatment room are very significantly correlated.3.our research standardize a management style of biohazard waste room which include the ultraviolet ray air,Reasonable distribution of moving lines,cleaning staff’s training and supervision,the propaganda and education on knowledge of nosocomial infection and the increasing of hand-washing facilities.4.by the action research study,the bacteria existing in the biohazard waste room’s air in Gastrointestinal surgery 1 was decreased from the 211.10±45.15cfu/cm3 to134.29±40.98cfu/cm3,in Medical Oncology 1 was decreased from 290.62±46.08cfu/cm3to 135.5±23.82cfu/cm3..the qualified rate of fluorescent labeling was increased from38.46%to 86.66%in Gastrointestinal surgery 1 and from 34.42%to 62.5%in Medical Oncology 1.The hand hygiene compliance increased from 35.64%to 76.15%in Gastrointestinal surgery 1 and from 37.28%to 83.19%in Medical Oncology 1,the RTI(Respiratory tract infection)was decreased from the 38.72%to 32.08%in Medical Oncology 1,the incision infection was decreased from the 0.85%to 0.38%in Gastrointestinal surgery,The differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.As the important part in health care infection management,the biohazard waste room has a hidden danger to nosocomial infection because of the lack of agreed standard of disinfection and construction.2.The action research study can effectively improve the quality of cleaning and disinfection on air and object surfaces in biohazard waste room.Above all it Improve the hand hygiene compliance rate of medical staff,and decrease the RTI(Respiratory tract infection)and incision infection of patients,which is significant in the control of nosocomial infection. |
