Wind energy is one of the most important renewable energy sources and is also the fastest growing and most economical clean energy in China.However,there are some problems in the development and utilization of wind energy,where the improper location of wind farms involves strong spatial implications that refer to various adverse effects on construction cost,noise level and environment.In order to solve these problems during the process of wind farm site selection,we select the wind farm of Wafangdian city in Dalian as study subject.The present paper proposes and implements an integrated evaluation framework for selecting the most appropriate sites for wind-farm development projects.This framework focuses on the combined use of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and VIKOR method or interval analytic hierarchy process(FAHP)and stochastic VIKOR under the support of GIS tools.Firstly,we apply AHP approach under fuzzy and interval conditions to derive the relative importance of each criterion,where this procedure is developed by means of various economic,social,and environmental criteria known as siting criteria.Then,determined all indexes scores of each grid point in the proposed region based on field investigation data,expert consultation and GIS technique.On this foundation,using VIKOR method under fuzzy and stochastic conditions to evaluate suitability score of the alternative location and get Qi value of each point,to determine the suitability of the position of wind power plant.Last but not least,through drawing diagrams to reflect the evaluation results.A comparison with the location of existing wind farms validates the reliability and accuracy of the evaluation result,where the evaluation result has a high contact ratio with existing wind farm.The successful construction of the evaluation system will be of guiding significance to future site selection for the wind farm and other forms of renewable energy,even the development of the total renewable energy industry.
