A Study On Frame Theory's Uses In Journalism And Communication Of China

This paper starts from the aspects of the origin of the framework concept,the orientations of its researches and its directions of the developments.By the collection of relevant domestic literatures on the researches of frameworks,and the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods based on content analysis,this paper makes a comprehensive review on the researches on frameworks within the area of domestic news transmission.On the basis of elaborating the framework theory itself,this paper analyzes the current situation of domestic framework researches to summarize the different orientations and limitations of the these researches.As for the structure of this paper,the main body includes the following:In the first part,this paper systematically summarizes the status quo of the current framework researches through the compilation of both domestic and foreign literatures.The research status of foreign countries is divided into three paradigms: the critical paradigm,the constructivism paradigm and the cognitive paradigm.The domestic research is divided into three categories according to their contents due to the insufficiency of relevant works: the introduction of foreign research results of framework analysis;the theoretical interpretation of the framework analysis and the practical application of the framework theory under the domestic context.After that,this paper starts from the origin of the framework concept,and explains the important researches on and the crucial viewpoints of both the psychological and the sociological origins respectively.Scholars have put forward many kinds of definitions,which have different emphasis on news production,researches on transmitters,research on audiences,text studies and cultural researches respectively and exerts a trend of diversified development.This shows that there is still a long way to go regarding the integration of framework concepts.After the theoretical discussion,this paper analyzes the four common orientations for researches on frameworks.And no matter it is the quantitative or qualitative orientation,a balance between the two is needed,so that the study can achieve quantification as far as possible under the acceptable reliability conditions.The locations of the researches on frameworks are divided into five sections which are: the power and resources in the process of news production,the media organizations and the journalists,the medium content,the framework effect and the cultural analysis of the frameworks.Speaking from the overall analysis,the framework studies have been developed in all these five areas,and further researches should be based on these developments.At the same time,the study of text contents has attracted much academic attention.In contrast,the studies of news production and cultural framework still call for more scholars' attention.Through the inspection of these framework studies carried out by domestic academic journals and dissertations,the second part of this paper analyzes the current situation of the domestic framework researches.The author believes that although the domestic framework researches have developed remarkably in the aspect of news transmission,but still,there exist certain flaws in the theoretical structure and the horizon of researches.The researches on frameworks still possess many aspects that can be explored,and they will have significant importance in news transmission in the future.
