Research And Implementation Of WebRTC User Oriented Video Conference Application

WebRTC(Web Real-Time Communication)is a multimedia communication technology based on the browser.The technology is designed to enable the developers simply use APIs produced by the browser without relying on any third party plug-ins to realize the real-time audio and video communication system.The emergence of WebRTC not only has greatly changed the application of real time communication in the Internet,but also brings opportunities and challenges to the telecom operators.IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem),which is the network foundation of the multimedia services in telecom operators introducing an important way of voice,data,video and.other differentiated business.Realizing the combination of WebRTC and IMS,the telecom operators can take use of the low development costs,rapid deployment and other advantages of WebRTC to promote the migration of users to the IMS network,creating a huge commercial value.This paper firstly do a research on the video conference system based on WebRTC technology.The system supports the video conference among WebRTC users and IMS users.Then this paper describes the design and implementation of the conference signaling gateway and the conference server in details,including the overall architecture,the function of each sub module,and the basic business process.The conference signaling gateway and the conference server are vital components in the video conference system.The conference signaling gateway is responsible for the communication between WebRTC users and conference server which lay the foundation for the communication between WebRTC users and media server.Because the protocol for the browser is ROAP while the SIP protocol for conference server,so the main function of the conference signaling gateway is to complete the conversion of ROAP message and SIP message.The conference server is responsible for handling and forwarding messages from the conference signaling gateway and IMS users,completing the communication between the users and media server which can relalize the video conference.Besides that,through communicating with the media server the conference server can complete the establishment,join,update,dynamic split screen and other operations of the conference.At last,this paper makes a detailed testing of the system,the test results verify the effectiveness of the design and implementation of the signaling gateway and the conference server in this paper.
