Translation,as a means of transfer between different languages,is indispensable to English learning,but in the current high school English teaching it has not obtained much attention.Teachers and students mainly focus on listening,reading and writing,ignoring the cultivation of translating ability.However,the "National High School English Curriculum Standard" has a clear requirement for students? translating ability,which is reflected in the college entrance examination English(national volume).Therefore,it is necessary to attach importance to the cultivation of students' translation ability in high school English classroom teaching.Based on the above-mentioned situations,the author,using the Task-based Language Teaching Method and some related translation theories,attempts to teach translation in high school English classroom.The author conducted experiment in two classes,Class 1 as an experimental class and Class 2 as a controlled class,and tested the two classes at the end of a semester to testify whether translation teaching guided by TBLT is effective.Chapter 1 gives a brief introduction to the definition of translation and the current situation of domestic translation teaching in high school.Chapter 2 reviews the concept of TBLT and translation theory.Chapter 3 analyzes the necessity of introducing translation teaching in high school English teaching.Chapter 4,based on some main translation methods,explains how to carry out translation teaching in high school English classroom under the guidance of TBLT.Chapter 5 elaborates the research process in details,,including questionnaires,interviews and teaching experiments.Chapter 6 analyses the results of the experiment,through the use of SPSS,data comparison,etc.to ensure that the results are scientific and effective.Chapter 7 draws the conclusion that translation teaching introduced into high school English classroom appropriately is effective.The proper application of TBLT translation teaching can improve the students' English ability.Through the combination of empirical research,qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,the conclusion is true and credible.However,due to small sample size,short experimental time and the author's inadequate ability,the conclusion is bound to have some limitations.The author hopes that this research can provide some enlightenment and help for high school English teaching.
