As there is more and more communication between China and the world, the demand for English talents has increased in recent years.Meanwhile the requirement of oral English is higher than before,so it is particularly important to cultivate oral English ability of students. However,in the process of the traditional Chinese teaching, although the syllabus requires the student to have the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing, for the sake of the students to get good grades in the exams, the teachers spend most of the time on the interpretation of language knowledge, and pay no attention to the cultivation of language using ability,so that many students' grammar and vocabulary skills are very well and can get particularly high test scores, however, their speaking ability is very poor. And some students even can't use the simplest language in daily communication, which has formed what the people often say "dumb English".So it has become a serious problem to make the oral English of high school students more standard. The traditional oral English teaching method emphasizes the mechanical memory, and the teaching content is boring, also away from reality, and the practicality is not very strong.A variety of teaching methods arise at the historic moment to solve this problem.Among these teaching methods, the communicative teaching method, the situational teaching method and task-based teaching method are the most popular methods with teachers and students. In this paper, the author launched an investigation to study the application of task-based teaching oral English teaching in high school. This kind of teaching method can avoid the disadvantages of the traditional teaching method, and can improve students' oral English ability better and faster. The whole thesis is divided into five chapters, the first chapter is introduction, three chapters of text and the fifth chapter is conclusion. The experiment adopts literature review, test method and questionnaire survey method, and the author raises two questions,“Whether the application of task-based teaching method to senior highschool oral English teaching is more effective than the traditional oral English teaching method?” “Does the application of the Task-based Teaching method can really improve the oral English quality of the students?” As for the present situation of the high school oral English teaching, the author takes good use of education resources, set two classes in total of 124 students of the Zhaoyuan first high school around the Qiqihaer city in Heilongjiang province as the research object. The students of the two classes are from the same place, the degree of the students, learning attitude, and discipline are very consistent. The English teacher of the two classes is the same, and the teaching schedule is consistent.Students of the two classes have mastered certain knowledge of English and also have the ability to study by themselves.During the experiment, one class is named experimental class and the other named comparative class. The experimental class uses task-based teaching method, and that in comparative classes uses traditional oral English teaching method. The author summarizes the advantages of the task-based teaching method and shortcomings of traditional teaching method. And draw the following conclusions: 1.task-based oral English teaching method is conducive to creating a good oral English teaching atmosphere, also improves the learning interest and confidence of students in English;2.the task-based teaching method alters the students' attitude to learn oral English and improves their communication skills;3,the task-based teaching method makes great contribution to the role changing from teacher-centered to student-centered.
