Objective:To evaluate the accuracy of implant placement using digitization guide templates by Tooth Implant software and discuss the advantage in multi-anodontia implantology.There-fore,to provide theoretical basis for better using digitization guide templates.Methods:20 multi-anodontia patients were selected from January 2015 to October 2016 in the affiliated hospital of Qingdao University,who were divided into A 、 B two groupsAccording to their own conditions and choice.Each of group has 10 patients.Every patient was taken cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)before the operation.And we used Tooth Implant software to design the preoperative plan.Implants were placed in group A without using surgical guide templates;implants were placed in group B using by digitized guide templates.All patients in 2 groups were taken CBCT after operation.Preand postoperative CBCT was matched and integrated by using Tooth Implant software.We measured the deviation of implant between actual position and preoperative design.We used SPSS 19.0 software package to analyze the data.Results:We placed 87 implants in the 20 multi-anodontia patients.All implants had good osseointegration.And all implants had no loose and fallen off.We found no obvious edge of bone resorption.Actual location of the implant and virtual position in Group A has some differences.And actual location of the implant and virtual position are basically identical.39 implants were totally placed in group A.In group A,the deviation as :shoulder(2.11±0.39)mm(1.35-3.09)mm,and apex(2.30±0.82)mm(1.55-4.96)mm,and depth(0.72±0.39)mm(-0.88-1.23)mm,angles(9.05±3.74)°(2.56-15.98)°;48 implants were totally placed in group B.In group B,the deviation as: shoulder(1.26±0.57)mm(0.17-2.38)mm,and apex(1.56±0.57)mm(0.31-2.65)mm,and depth(0.52±0.37)mm(-1.03-1.34)mm,and angles(4.87±1.55)°(2.04-7.05)°.Conclusions:1.Compared with not using digitization guide templates,using it in multi-anodontia patients can make implants achieve better three-dimensional position.Therefore,digitization guide templates have a wide range of application perspective and good application value.2.Because of the production of digitization guide templates and surgical procedure,using digitization guide templates also has deviation,so we cannot use templates casually.We should design a safe distance to avoid damage important anatomic structures.
