Background:The number of patients that demand fixed implant-supported prostheses has increased considerably in the past few years. However, conventional implant placement has many pitfalls: unsatisfactory hard tissue conditions, limited surgery time related to the use of local anesthesia,a restricted visualization of the operation field.CAD/CAM surgical guides can provide ideal position of implant according to the best restoration treatment plan.CAD/CAM surgical guides have been used widely in kinds of implant surgeries with the introduction of the cone beam computed tomography, the development of CAD/CAM and 3D print technologies and the exploitation of materials and processing technic.Aim:To evaluate the clinical outcomes and the accuracy of implant placement with the use of domestic CAD/CAM surgical guides.Materials and methods: 6 patients who received dental implant treatment were recruited from the Department of Dental Implantology,Dalian Stomatology Hospital. In total,7 domestic CAD/CAM surgical guides and 28 implants were used. The procedure presents as follow: design and manufacture the CAD/CAM surgical guides before operation;complete the surgery using CAD/CAM surgical guides;match the preoperative CBCT and postoperative CBCT;use SPSS evaluate the data. Results: The quantitative data for each group are expressed as mean values with standard deviations. An independent-samples t-test was used for comparisons between the planned and placed implants in terms of the angular deviations, depth deviations and deviations in position at the neck and apex.In total, the 28 implants were placedwithout any complications. The mean angular deviations of the placed implants were 4.25±3.15°,respectively,while the mean deviations in position were 0.61±0.55 mm mm at the neck and 0.64±0.61 mm at the apex. The mean depth deviations were 0.55±0.46 mm.All these values were significantly different(P < 0.05)between the toothsupported and mucosa-supported surgical guides, anterior teeth and posterior teeth, maxillary teeth and mandibular teeth. Conclusion: CAD/CAM surgical guides allow the clinician to satisfy both functional and esthetic demands, and ensure precise placement and predictable prosthetic outcomes.Significant differences were observed between nucosa-supported and toothsupported surgical guides, the apex deviations and neck deviations, posterior teeth and posterior teeth, maxillary teeth and mandibular teeth, with the former ones showing greater accuracy than the latter ones.
