| Objective: To observed the difference of clinical efficacy between Governor Meridian-regulating and brain-unblocking acupuncture and traditional acupuncture on the treatment of post-stroke depression(PSD)Methods: According to the inclusion criteria,a total of 66 PSD patients with informed consent were randomly divided into treatment group(n=33)and control group(n=33),and all patients were received routine treatment of stroke.The treatment group was treated by Governor Meridian-regulating and Brain-unblocking acupuncture on the basis of routine treatment,and the control group was treated by traditional acupuncture on the basis of routine treatment,1 time per day,5 times per weeks for 8 weeks.The Hamilton's Depression Scale(HAMD),daily living ability(ADL,Barthel Index)and Chinese Stroke Scale(CSS)before and after 2,4,8 weeks treatment were observed in two groups,to evaluate the improvements of depression,daily living ability and neurological deficit,and to compared the differences between two groups.HAMD was composed by Hamilton in 1960 and was a reliable and effective method for assessing the severity of depressive symptoms in patients with depressive disorder.It is widely used and proven to be a reliable and effective means of depressive symptoms in stroke patients.The term ADL was proposed by Sidney Katz in 1963,which was mainly used to measure the ability of independent living of the elderly,Garman pointed out that ADL is the basic daily life activity necessary to complete self-care,divided into basic or physical activities of daily activities,instrumental or extensible activities of daily living.The evaluation of ADL was an important basis for evaluating the rehabilitation effect of stroke patients and making rehabilitation plan.CSS was widely used in the evaluation of neurological deficits in patients with stroke,has good reliability and validity.Statisticalanalysis was performed with SPSS 21.0 statistical software.The measurement data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation.The independent sample T test was used to compare the two groups.The variance analysis of repeated measurement design data was used to compare the different time points in the group.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant by the chi-square test.The difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Results: According to Chi-square test,the total effective rate of depression symptoms in treatment group was superior to that in control group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).According to Chi-square test,the total effective rate of ADL in treatment group was superior to that in control group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).According to Chi-square test,the total effective rate of neurologic impairment in treatment group was superior to that in control group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).From the comparison between before and after,as compared with before treatment,the HAMD was decreased after 2,4,8 weeks treatment in two groups,with statistical difference(P<0.05).As compared with 2 weeks after treatment,the HAMD was decreased after 4,8 weeks treatment in two groups,with statistical difference(P<0.05).As compared with 4 weeks after treatment,the HAMD was decreased after 8 weeks treatment in control group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference on HAMD after 8weeks treatment in treatment group(P>0.05).From the comparison between groups,there was no difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The scores of HAMD after 2,4 weeks treatment in treatment group were lower than those in control group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference on HAMD after 8 weeks treatment between two groups(P > 0.05).From the comparison between before and after,as compared with before treatment,the Barthel Index(BI)was increased after 4,8 weeks treatment in two groups,with statistical difference(P<0.05).As compared with 4 weeks after treatment,the BI was increased after 8 weeks treatment in two groups,with statistical difference(P<0.05).From the comparison between groups,there was no statistical difference on BI beforeand after 4 weeks treatment between two groups(P>0.05).The BI after 8weeks treatment in treatment group was higher than that in control group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).From the comparison between before and after,as compared with before treatment,the CSS was decreased after 4,8 weeks treatment in two groups,with statistical difference(P<0.05).As compared with 4 weeks after treatment,the CSS was decreased after 8 weeks treatment in treatment group,with statistical difference(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference after 8 weeks treatment in control group(P>0.05).From the comparison between groups,there was no statistical difference on CSS before and after 4,8 weeks treatment between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion: The total effective rates of depression symptoms,ADL and neurologic impairment in Governor Meridian-regulating and Brain-unblocking acupuncture were superior to traditional acupuncture,with statistical difference(P<0.05),that indicate the Governor Meridian-regulating and Brain-unblocking acupuncture has better curative effect on PSD than traditional acupuncture.There was statistical difference on HAMD score between two groups,and the HAMD after 2,4 weeks treatment in treatment group was lower than control group,and there was no statistical difference on HAMD after 8 weeks treatment between two groups.which indicate the Governor Meridian-regulating and Brain-unblocking acupuncture take action faster with long duration.As compared with before and after treatment,there was statistical difference in the Barthel Index(BI).There was no statistical difference on BI after 4 weeks treatment between two groups.The BI after 8weeks treatment in treatment group was higher than that in control group,with statistical difference.Over time,the Governor Meridian-regulating and Brain-unblocking acupuncture can better enhance the ADL in PSD patients than traditional acupuncture. |
