| Objective:To investigate iodine nutritional status and the prevalence of thyroid diseases in adults in Shanxi, and explore the relationship between iodine intake and thyroid diseases. Methods:We take random sampling method to choose 2479 healthy subjects including 1322 urban subjects and 1157 rural subjects according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria among thyroid diseases physical examination in 2015 in Shanxi. All participants need finish these items which include questionnaire investigation, physical examination, collecting blood samples for the determination of thyroid function, collecting urine samples of the morning for the determination of urine iodine and thyroid ultrasonography. The basic information of the object and the results of the experiment are entered into the database. Finally we organize and analyze experimental result.Results:1.The average median of urinary iodine was 214.7μg/L in adults in Shanxi. The MUI of the male was higher than that of the female(220.5ug/L vs 205.6ug/L),and the difference is statistically significant(P=0.037).The MUI of the young group is higher than that of the middle-aged group(224.7 ug/L vs 203.6 ug/L),and the MUI of middle age group is higher than that of the elderly group(203.6 ug/L vs 185.5 ug/L),there was statistically significant difference in different age groups(P<0.001).The MUI of the city is lower than that of the rural(186.2ug/L vs 245.7ug/L),there was statistically significant difference(P<0.001).2.The prevalence rate of thyroid disease which is hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, subclinical hyperthyroidism and thyroid nodules are0.6%,15.7%,0.5%,0.7% and 9.9%,respectively.The prevalence of rates hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and subclinical hyperthyroidism in the urban and rural are not statistically significant difference, while the prevalence of thyroid nodules(12.1% in city vs 7.7% in rural)was statistically significant difference.3.There are no statistically significant difference in the positive rates of TPOAb and the positive rates of both TPOAb and TGAb in different iodine nutrition groups, but there was statistically significant difference between the level of TSH and TGAb positive rates. The prevalence rate of hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, subclinical hyperthyroidism and thyroid nodules in different iodine nutrition group are not statistically significant difference.Conclusions:1.The iodine nutrition level of residents was iodine super excessive area in adult in Shanxi.2.There is no statistically significant difference in the positive rates of TPOAb in different iodine nutritional status, while the level of TSH and the positive rate of TGAb was significant difference. The level of TSH and the positive rate of TGAb was the lowest in the iodine super excessive area. The prevalence rate of thyroid disease is no significant difference in different iodine nutritional status. |
