With the rapid development of market economy and the intensification of market competition,the role of strategic management in hospitals has received more and more attention.Different from other industries,the medical industry is highly related to the people’s lives and health conditions,it has its own particularity.Especially in the context of health care reform and the introduction of new medical policies,the medical environment faced by the medical market has undergone tremendous and profound changes.Z hospital’s rapidly development has made some social and economic benefits in recent years,occupy a favorable competitive position in the market within Henan Province and get access to domestic and foreign patients with extensive recognition and praise.However,in the hospital’s competitiveness,compared with the domestic well-known hospitals,Z hospital is still in a competitive disadvantage.In 2014 by the Fudan University Hospital Research Institute issued a list of the top 100 hospitals,Z hospital only ranked 63,with the top three Peking Union Hospital,Sichuan University,West China Hospital,the Chinese People’s Liberation Army General Hospital in the specialist reputation,scientific research Academic and other aspects of the difference is very large.Therefore,in such fierce competition within the medical market,Z Hospital need for strategic management research to further guide its sustainable development.Based on the field investigation of Z hospital,this paper analyzes the internal and external environment of Z hospital by the SWOT model,summarizes the opportunities and threats faced by the hospital and its own advantages and disadvantages by SWOT analysis methods.In addition,it analysis the competitiveness of the hospital by competitive strategy Theory and develops the SO,ST and other development strategies suitable for the hospital: Using the centralization and the marketing strategy enhances the core competitive power and the popularity of the hospital;Using the maintenance of public relations and cultural construction to improve the hospital service consciousness and strength the hospital reputation and so on.In addition,this article explains how to successfully ensure the realization of the development strategy from the aspects of the implementation of performance management and the establishment of risk control system as well as other aspects.Through the study of Z hospital development strategy,on the one hand,it enriches the relevant research contents of the strategic management of domestic hospital,on the other hand,we hope the study can play a reference to other similar medical institutions in the industry strategic development.
