Objectives To assess the anxiety and depression in the spouses of patients undertaken percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and analyze its influencing factors,in order to provide theoretical reference for the specific psychological intervention. Methods From August,2015 to August,2016,a total of 420 PCI patients of Tangshan Worker’s Hospital who matched with the inclusion criteria and their spouses were selected as the study subject.Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)and an item were respectively developed to assess the anxiety depression level of the patients’ spouses and to gather their general information 1 week after PCI.Additionally,a6-month postoperative follow-up was performed for the PCI patients’ major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE).Results 1 The anxiety and depression of the PCI patients’ spouses: The mean score in SAS of the spouses 1 week after patients’ PCI was significantly higher than domestic norm(50.75±5.48 vs 29.78±10.07,t=40.549,P﹤0.001).The mean score in SDS of the spouses was also significantly higher than domestic norm(49.48±4.65 vs 33.46±8.55,t=36.729,P﹤0.001).The incidence of anxiety and depression of the spouses 1 week after the patient’s PCI were 51.4% and 44.8%,which were higher than those of domestic common people(anxiety 11.2% and depression 6.0%).A similar trend was found in the results 6 months after patients’ PCI.The mean score in SAS of the spouse was still significantly higher than domestic norm(45.69±4.54 vs 29.78±10.07,t=31.243,P﹤0.001).The mean score in SDS of the spouse was also higher than domestic norm(46.30±4.24 vs 33.46±8.55,t=29.651,P﹤0.001).The rate of anxiety and depression of the spouses were 26.9% and 30.0%,which were higher than domestic common people. Results showed that the anxiety and depression of spouses 6 months after PCI were lower than those 1 week after PCI and the difference was statistically significant.2 The influence factors of the spouses’ anxiety: The result(1 week after PCI)showed that the spouses’ anxiety level was statistically significantly different in their gender, age, physical condition, the coronary heart disease type and the anxiety condition of the patient(P<0.05).While the spouses’ education level, the average household monthly income, the payment style of medical cost, coronary heart disease course of the patient, the number of patients’ diseased vessels and the number of heart stents did not show statistically significantly difference. The result(6 months after PCI)showed that the spouses’ anxiety level had a statistically significantly difference in the spouses’ gender, age, physical condition, the type of coronary heart disease, coronary heart disease course of the patient, the number of heart stents, the anxiety condition of the patient and with or without major adverse cardiovascular events(P<0.05).While the difference in the spouses’ education level, the average household monthly income, the payment style of medical cost, and the number of patients’ diseased vessels did not show statistically significantly difference.3 The influence factor of the spouses’ depression: The result(1 week after PCI)showed that the spouses’ depression condition was statistically significantly different in their gender, age, the payment style of medical cost, the coronary heart disease type, coronary heart disease course of the patient and the depression condition of the patient(P<0.05).While the spouses’ education level, physical condition, the average household monthly income, the number of patients’ diseased vessels and the number of heart stents did not show statistically significantly difference. The result(6 months after PCI)showed that the spouses’ depression level had a statistically significantly difference in the spouses’ gender, age, the payment style of the medical cost, the coronary heart disease type, coronary heart disease course of the patient, the depression condition of the patient and with or without major adverse cardiovascular events(P<0.05).While the difference in the spouses’ education level, physical condition, the average household monthly income, the number of patients’ diseased vessels and the number of heart stents did not show statistically significantly difference. Conclusions 1 Anxiety and depression widely exist in the patients’ spouses within no matter 1 week or 6 months after PCI,and the anxiety and depression score 6 months after PCI is lower than that 1 week after PCI.2 The young female spouses and the spouses of the patients who have acute onset, myocardial infarction, multiple heart stents,MACE,negative emotion(including anxiety and depression)or pay by rural cooperative medical care are more easily to fall into anxiety and depression.
