| Objective: The paper tries to compare the curative effects between the warming acupuncture and traditional acupuncture in curing post stroke shoulder hand syndrome(SHS)and then make clear the advantages and disadvantages of warm acupuncture and traditional acupuncture. The efficacy and action mechanism of the warm acupuncture are analyzed to extend its application.Treatments: Sixty patients were randomized into two groups with each group 30 patients. The traditional acupuncture is applied in curing the patients in the first group(namely traditional acupuncture group,TA Group for abbreviation)while the warm acupuncture is applied in cuing the patients in the second group(namely warm acupuncture group,WA group for abbreviation). The detail treatments are provided as follows:(1)TA group: acupuncture the shoulder tri-needles,Jianyu,Binao,Quchi,Shousanli,Wenliu and Hegu, straightly into 1cun.Each acupoint is medially stimulated to ensure that the patient has a sour feeling.Note the each acupuncture lasts 30 minutes.(2)MA group: firstly, the same acupunctures are applied. After the acupunctures,6 moxa sticks with 2 cm long are fixed on the needle handles acupunctured at shoulder tri-needles,with a vertical distance of 2-3 cm to the skin. And then the six moxa sticks are fired.Note that the scald should be avoided. The treatments last three weeks and six treatments are conducted from Monday to Saturday in each week. The treatment efficacy of these two methods are studied and then compared by the Fugl-Meyer Assessment(upper limb active motor function),hand edema and VAS pain index.Test results: 1.A statistical analysis of the 60 patients and experimental data,we find that there exists no statistical significant in difference between the two groups(P>0.05)in the sex ratio, stroke type, disease stage, duration of disease and age,VAS pain index, the Fugl-Meyer assessment(upper limb active motor function)and the degree of hand edema before treatment, which proves the experimental can be used in the following analysis and comparison.2.After the treatments with 3 weeks, the measured data in two groups shows a significant difference(P<0.01)in the VAS pain index, the Fugl-Meyer assessment(upper limb active motor function),and the comparison of the difference after treatment presents a statistically significant(P<0.01),which proves that the warm acupuncture has a better treatment efficacy than the traditional acupuncture.3.For the degree of hand edema, there is a significant difference after treatment in both two groups which proves a statistically significant(P<0.01),but the difference of the two groups has a statistically significant(P<0.05),which means that the warm acupuncture has a better treatment efficacy than the traditional acupuncture.4.Two groups of patients with effective treatment, the traditional acupuncture heals well for 2 cases and shows remarkable improvement for 11 cases, obvious improvement for 10 cases while no improvement for 7 cases, which shows the curative rate in the TA Group is 76.67%.The warm acupuncture heals well for 7 cases and shows remarkable improvement for 13 cases, obvious improvement for 8 cases while no improvement for 1 cases, which shows that the curative rate is 96.55%.After a chi-square test,P<0.05 shows a statistically significant, which means that the warm acupuncture has a better treatment efficacy in the curative rate of SHS with the traditional acupuncture.Main conclusions: 1.Warm acupuncture can obviously relieve patient’s pain and improve the limb movement function, the effect is obviously better than acupuncture group.2.Warm acupuncture can reduce the patient’s hand edema and improve the overall efficiency, and the effect is obviously better than acupuncture group.3.Warm acupuncture in the treatment of post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome has a certain advantage, with simple and efficient features,it is worth promoting.. |
