Observation On The Clinical Efficacy Of Huoxuehuayu Decoction In The Treatment Of Post-depression Patients With Qi Stagnation And Blood Stasis

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Huoxue Huayu Jieyu Decoction(the decoction that promotes blood circulation,removes blood stasis,and resolves depression)in the treatment of post-stroke depression(PSD)patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis.Methods:Sixty PSD patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the registration order,30 cases of each.As the withdrawal exists during the study,27 cases are eventually included in the treatment group and 26 cases are included in the control group.People in the treatment group are treated with Huoxue Huayu Jieyu Decoction and Escitalopram Oxalate Tablets(Lai Shipu)(One plaster per day and Chinese medicinals were taken with warm water twice a day,morning and evening;10mg of the Escitalopram Oxalate tablet,and once a day in the morning).People in the control group are treated with oral administration of Escitalopram Oxalate Tablets(10mg and once a day in the morning).Both groups of patients were given the neurological routine treatment of cerebrovascular diseases and the total treatment course was 6 weeks.The Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)score,NIHSS score,Barthel index score,and Barthel index score as well as the TCM syndrome evaluation were scored in the two groups before the treatment,as well as 2 weeks,4 weeks and 6 weeks after the treatment.The treatment group and the control group were compared,and at the same time,the routine safety checks were conducted during the clinical trial in order to evaluate the clinical therapeutic effects as well as the safety of Huoxue Huayu Jieyu Decoction in treating the PSD patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis.Results:The HAMD score,NIHSS score and TCM syndrome evaluation grade were decreased and the score of Barthel index were increased in the treatment group,significantly better than those of the control group.The differences are statistically significant(P<0.05).Adverse reactions were observed,and serious adverse reactions were not detected in patients of both groups,suggesting that the decoction is safe in the treatment of post-stroke depression.Conclusion:Huoxue Huayu Jieyu Decoction has exact effect in the treatment of PSD patients with qi stagnation and blood stasis.It can not only significantly improve the patient’s symptoms of depression,but promote the recovery of neurological deficits in patients as well as improve their independent living abilities.In addition,it is safe and effective with no adverse reactions.
