Establishment And Application Of The Scale Of Family Caregivers’ Cognitive Level On Continuous Nursing Care For Premature Infants

Objective Establish the scale of family caregivers’ cognitive level on continuous nursing care for premature infants to investigate the caregivers’ cognitive level on the continuous nursing care of 0~1 year premature infants,so as to guide the caregivers to provide continuous nursing care for premature infants aged 0 to 1 year,and to improve caregivers’ cognitive level,then promote premature infants and caregivers’ physical and mental health.Methods By reviewing previous research and group discussion,“the scale of family caregivers’ cognitive level on continuous nursing care for premature infants ” has been developed,two-round Delphi consultations were used to identify the draft of the scale.Totally 419 caregivers of premature infants were investigated by the scale,and the reliability and validity were tested by item analysis,correlation analysis,exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis,et al.Totally 567 caregivers of premature infants were investigated by the scale,and all measurement date was described as average and standard deviation,enumeration data was described as frequency and constituent ratio.Using two independent samples t-test,ANOVA,multiple linear regression analysis to explore the influencing factors of family caregivers cognitive level on continuous nursing care for premature infants.Results 1.The scale included 4 indicators in level one,15 indicators in level two and 77 indicators in level three.The Cronbach’s α was 0.985 for overall questionnaire and 0.848~0.939 for each dimension,the split-half reliability was 0.895 for overall question-naire and 0.814~0.939 for each dimension,the content validity index was 0.963,the cumulative contribution rate of each dimension was 64.645%~83.236%.2.Descriptive research and single factor analysis of family caregivers’ cognitive level on continuous nursing care for premature infants: Totally 567 caregivers’ cognitive level on continuous nursing care for premature infants aged 0~1 year was(3.321±0.615)points,the item with the lowest score is “the treatment of asphyxia”(2.587±0.903)points,the item with the highest score is “the importance of a smoke-free environment”(4.000±0.706)points.Single factor analysis results showed that the different asphyxia conditions of preterm infants,the sex of caregivers,different identity,different education background,different profession,different experience of health education accept,different dwelling place,different approaches to community,different per capital monthly income,different reimbursement way were the main influencing factor of the level of the knowledge(p <0.05).There were no statistically significant of the different premature infants gender,different gestational age of premature infants,different weight in premature birth,different delivery mode,different operation situation after premature birth,different treatment effect,different ages of caregivers,different place of residence(p>0.05).2.Multi-variable linear return analysis the influencing factor of family caregivers cognitive level on continuous nursing care for premature infants:There were two variables entered the regression equation,the education background and dwelling place were the main influencing factors of the cognitive level on the knowledge(p <0.05).Conclusion 1.The scale was through literature review,two-round Delphi consultations,and then was conducted by item analysis and reliability and validity analysis in pilot investigation.The process strictly accord to the the standardized programmes of the development of a scale,the scale content was scientific and comprehensive,so it can be used to access the family caregivers cognitive level,direct nurses to provide continuous care for premature infants,and evaluate the continuous nursing effect.2.Knowledge and skills of caregivers for premature infant continuous care is relatively insufficient.Standardized health educate should be build up to improve continuous care knowledge of premature infants caregiver,and to promote premature infants and caregivers physical and mental health.
