A Clinical Study Of Acupuncture And Moxibustion For Protrusion Of Intervertebral Disc

ObjectiveThe protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc is caused by the regression,damages and cracked annulus fibrosus happening to the intervertebral disc tissues.The nucleus pulposus tissues consequently extrude from the position of cracked annulus fibrosus to the posterolateral direction or the position right behind.It will then oppress the root of spinal nerve and cauda equina to result in pains in waist and sciatica in lower limbs.In traditional Chinese medicine,it belongs to the scope of "pain in waist and lower extremities"and "arthralgia syndrome".To cure and improve symptoms in view of patients suffering from protrusion of intervertebral disc,with the combination of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medical massage.MethodsSampled 60 cases of patients suffering from protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc are exam by the clinic during January to December of 2016.Among that,30 cases are classified as the treatment group treated with the combination of acupuncture and Chinese massage,while the rest 30 cases are classified as the control group treated with acupuncture therapy.Each case accepted the corresponding treatment for 3 times per week,with 12 times contributing to one course of treatment.Consequently,the operator could research and observe the curative effects based on the treatment group and the control group.ResultsAs to 30 cases in the treatment group,14 cases were healed well and effective results were respectively presented by 9 and 6 cases.The total effective rate reached 96.67%.As to 30 cases in the control group,8 cases were healed whileⅢremarkable and effective results were respectively presented by 7 and 10 cases.The total effective rate reached 83.33%.The curative effect of treatment group was obviously superior to that of the control group.ConclusionThe combination of acupuncture and Chinese massage can cure or improve patients’ ache,pains and paralysis symptoms caused by the protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc.As a result,patients.can not only get grid of illness,but also return to normal work and life as soon as possible.
