Data were gathered through Procrastination Assessment Scale-student (PASS), Adaptation Scale, Self-esteem Scale (SES) and were analyzed by independent t-test, correlation test and regression analysis.Results:(1) The overall response rate of our survey was 91.1% with 410 valid research questionnaire scales. The proportion of female students in the total research population was 87.8%. Non-only children accounted for 85.4% of all subjects, and Han students accounted for 82.0%. Up to 75.6% of those surveyed were satisfied with their speciality.(2) The total average score on PASS for nursing college students was 49.62±11.35.(3) Compared to female nursing students, male nursing students had less severity of procrastination and they were more willing to change. The severity scores for male nursing students on assignment three and five were 2.19±0.93 and 1.78±0.86 respectively, while female students got 2.60± 1.12 and 2.16±0.99 on assignment three and five of PASS scale. The differences were statistically significant (p<0.05). The scores on desire to improve for male nursing students on assignment two, four and six were 3.65±1.16,3.25±1.25 and 3.31±1.33 respectively, while female students had 3.08±1.15,2.68±0.90 and 2.88±0.88 on relative PASS assignments. The differences for the PASS scores between male and female nursing students were statistically significant.(4) Only children got 2.85±1.19,2.75±1.17 and 2.80±1.29 respectively on assginment three, four and six of PASS scales. Non-only children had PASS scores of 3.47±1.19,3.28±1.21 and 3.36±1.27 on assginment three, four and six. These differences were stastically significant.(5) Those nursing students who had higher professional satisfaction had less severity of procrastination and higher adaptation scale, and the differences were stastically significant.(6) Han students had better performance on adaptation scale compared to non-Han students.(7) There was a negative correlation between self-esteem and learning adaptation while academic procrastination was revealed to be a mediation effect.Conclusion:(1) Academic procrastination is very common among college nursing students, and the averge score is at moderate level.(2) Current learning adaptability for college nursing students is good.(3) The levels of self-esteem for college nursing students are at moderate levels.(4) Many factors play a role of college nursing students'performance on academic procrastination, learning adaptation and self-esteem in the health vocational college.(5) We revealed a negative correlation between self-esteem and learning adaptation with academic procrastination as a mediator among nursing students.
