Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of self-made Sihuang Kudi Decoction with cold and wet compressing in treating erysipelas of lower limbs, and to investigate the action mechanism. And the study will offer the theory basis for the promotion in clinical use.Methods:45 patients with erysipelas of lower limbs were divided into the control group and the treatment group at random. Control group 22 cases were given Wu Shen Decoction, with 50% magnesium sulfate wet compressing. Basing on the treatment of Wu Shen Decoction, treatment group 23 cases were cold and wet compressing by Sihuang Kudi Decoction. The both groups were treated for 7 days and then the changes of the clinical curative effect, inflammatory indexes and local clinical symptoms and signs were observed and compared.Results:1.The treatment group total effective rate was 95.65%, which was significantly higher than the 68.18% in the control group. Comparison of two groups’ clinical curative effect has statistically significant effect (P<0.05).2.Compared with pre-treatment, the inflammatory indexes of leucocyte count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and serum C reactive protein after treatment significantly decreased for both groups(P<0.05), and the level in the treatment group was obviously lower than that of control group(P<0.05).3.Compared with pre-treatment, patients’ local clinical symptoms and signs (skin color, limb swelling degree, skin temperature and pain) after treatment significantly decreased for both groups(P<0.05), and the level in the treatment group was obviously lower than that of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The apply of Sihuang Kudi Decoction with cold and wet can significantly reduce the leucocyte count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and serum C reactive protein level in the patients with erysipelas of lower limbs, improve the local inflammatory response, and has an curative effect on erysipelas of lower limbs. |
