Clinical Observation Of Wenyangtongyou Decoction In Treating Chronic Constipation Of Elderly Patients With Chronic Constipation

Objectives:With the increasing of population aging intensifies,the research of Senile disease is increasingly important.The research through clinical randomized controlled tests were conducted by comparing the observed Wenyangtongyou Decoction clinical curative effect in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic constipation in Yang deficiency type.In addition,Mechanism analysis of two aspects of Wenyangtongyou Decoction in the treatment of chronic constipation in elderly Yang deficiency from clinical observation and theoreical analysis.To provide a new approach for the treatment of chronic constipation in elderly patients with Yang deficiency,to better exert the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine,relieve pain,improve prognosis,improve the quality of life.Methods:All the patients come from the Chinese medicine patient department and inpatient department of Shiyan tai-he hospital from January,2014 to August,2015.Choose patients who meet the diagnostic criteria of chronic constipation in elderly patients with Yang deficiency,between 60-89 years old.Divided the patients into treatment group(31 cases)and control group(30 cases).Two groups are comparable before treatment,there were no significant difference in ender,age,duration of disease,Bristol score,chronic constipation severity score,total score of TCM symptoms and patent assessment of constipation quality of life questionaire.The treatment group uses the WenyangtongyouDecoction(ingredients:cistanche,Atractylodes,Codonopsis 20 g,angelica,Achyranthes,Alisma,Fructus aurantii,cassia 10 g,Cimicifuga,ginger,liquorice6g),200 ml,po.bid and the Control group were treated with PEG 4000,10 g,po.Bid.The course of treatment was 30 days.After the course of treatment,the patients were followed up for 6 months to observe the longterm curatieffect.The data are statistically analyzed with SPSS15.0 software and create a database.Observe the changes before and after treatment.observation index such as side effect and adverse events,clinical efficiency,fecal trait score,the degree of constipation relief,TCM symptom score,recurrence rate,improvement in quality of life.Results:There is no adverse event and severe side effect after treatment.Therefore prompt the effect of prognosis of two groups of comparable.The result follows:(1)Comparison of total efficiency :The total efficiency of treatment group was 87.10%,control group total effective rate was 66.67%,the total effect of Wenyangtongyou decoction is better than PEG 4000(P<0.05);(2)Comparison of Stool character:Two kinds of treatment can improve the stool,and Wenyangtongyou Decoction in improving the stool quiet role is better than that of PEG 4000(P<0.05);(3)Comparison of Relieve constipation:Two treatment can alleviate the degree of constipation and Wenyangtongyou Decoction in relieving chronic constipation degree as than PEG 4000 better(P <0.05);(4)Comparison of TCM symptoms: Two kinds of treatment can improve the symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine,and Wenyangtongyou Decoction in improving TCM symptoms than PEG 4000(P<0.05)has obvious dvantages;(5)Comparison of recrudescence:The two groups after treatment follow-up have recurrence,butWenyangtongyou Decoction in the prevention of recurrence is better than that of PEG 4000(P<0.01);(6)Comparison of quality of life:Two kinds of treatment can enhance the quality of life and Wenyangtongyou Decoction in improving quality of life,improve prognosis than PEG 4000 more significant advantage(P<0.05).Conclusion:Wenyangtongyou Decoction in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic constipation in Yang deficiency type has remarkable curative effect,compared with the control group,in improving the stool,constipation,improve clinical symptoms,reduce the recurrence rate,improve the quality of life has a significant advantage.Wenyangtongyou Decoction is effective in treating elderly chronic constipation of Yang deficiency type.
