Objective: Bibliometric analysis on HIV/AIDS prevention and control research status and development trend of men who have sex with men(MSM)population and floating population in China during 2008-2014, and provide a reference for the corresponding innovative research formulation and strategic planning of related scientific research centers and management departments. Methods: Publications during 2008-2014 from Chinese database including CNKI, Wan Fang Data and CBM were searched on HIV/AIDS prevention and control among MSM population and floating population in China.Using Pubmed database as the source of English Literature.Data analysis based on information visualization tools Cite Space III was made on collecteddocuments searched by topic-specific retrieval. Bibliometric analysis was made on research of MSM and floating population AIDS prevention and control field from the view of number of publication papers, subordinate organizations and regional distribution of paper, productive author and cooperative relationship, co-word and research hotspot. Results : 1 247 publications were collected on Chinese MSM AIDS prevention and control of Chinese literature during 2008-2014. The overall publication number was on the rise, annual publication number reached 178.1.564 publications were collected on Chinese MSM AIDS prevention and control of English literature. The overall publication number was on the rise, too, annual publication number reached 80.6. Chinese literature involved a total of 3 025 authors, among whom, 1 302(43%) published > 2 papers. Jie Xu, from China CDC STD AIDS prevention and control center, published the largest number of papers up to 58, accounted for 4.7% of all documents(58/3025). The author distribution was wider, but the published papers top 10 authors all have close collaboration with others. Research content of core authors was relatively concentrate, most focus on high-risk areas and vulnerable population. This retrieval also involved 506 scientific research institutions or organizations. China CDC STD AIDS prevention and control center published a total of 128 papers, accounting for 10.3% of the total number. Cooperation between organizations is relatively loose. A majority of publications were published by China CDC STD AIDS prevention and control center, CDC of Mianyang city, and CDC of Chongqing. Chinese literature were 68 key words frequency ≥ 5 or centrally degree ≥ 0.01. During2008-2011, the research content focused on virology, prevention and control, and epidemiological survey, while for 2012-2014, on test monitoring, health education, and psychology. Researches on vaccine and the clinical treatment were still not prominent, only two keywords "antibody" and "mutation", and centrally degree of 0. English literature were 47 key words frequency≥20 or centrally degree ≥0.01.During 2008—2009 and 2012—2014,the research content focused on epidemiological investigation and analysis, such as disease surveillance, statistical methods, etc.while for 2010-2011, on basic subject research. A total of 597 articles on HIV/AIDS prevention and control among China’s floating population during 2008-2014 were searched and involved in this study. The annual average publication number was 85.3. In English literature, a total of 182 articles were retrieved, the number of the overall relatively stable, the growth rate was not obvious, with an average annual amount of 26. Further more, there are 1 724 authors be covered, among whom,1 331 published 1 paper, accounting for 77.2% of the total number of authors. The authors who published more than 10 papers were only five. Lv Fan, from China CDC STD AIDS prevention and control center, published the largest number(a total of 19, accounted for 3.2% of all documents). The author distribution was wider, but the published papers top 10 authors all have close collaboration with others. Research content of core authors was relatively concentrate, most focus on high-risk areas and vulnerable population. Based on these articles, there were 451 scientific research institutions ororganizations involved, among which China CDC STD AIDS prevention and control center has the honor to publish the majority(a total of 37, accounting for 6.2% of the total number). Chinese literature were 50 key words frequency≥5 or centrally degree≥0.01. The research field focused on health education, high risk behavior intervention, community participation in research, treatment of care. English literature were 35 key words frequency≥10 or centrally degree≥0.01.Overall, the research focus was relatively clear, During2009-2010, the research content focused on HIV diagnosis, HIV serological detection, and AIDS binding hepatitis analysis. During 2011-2012, the research content focused on analysis of the behavior of the floating population.During 2013-2014, the research content focused on humanities and Sociology. Conclusions:The cooperation relationship among authors in the field of Chinese MSM AIDS prevention and control was generally ideal, but cooperation between agencies was still relatively loose,cross-regional/institutional cooperation was still not enough. Local authorities should actively cooperate with advanced institutions in this field, to build a national or regional cooperation and exchange platform. Researches should incline to the field of detecting and monitoring, health education, and psychological intervention. Compared to the Chinese literature, the focus of English literature research was more concentrated and fixed.
