Properties Study On Epoxy Asphalt Mixture Containing Sonow-melting Agent

Pavements covered with snow in winter is harmful to vehicles and passengers because of its low friction.The asphalt mixture with snow-melting agent,in a manner,can melt snow and ice.However,the performance degradation of the asphalt mixture blended with the snow-melting agent can inevitably occur.In this paper,the thermosetting epoxy asphalt binder,different from the conventional thermoplastic asphalt as SBS modified asphalt,was adopted in this research to solve this problem.And experiments on the mechanical property and deicing performance were carried out to reveal the special characteristics of this thermosetting mixture.Firstly,aggregate gradation named as AC-13 mixture was used to design epoxy asphalt mixture with the snow-melting agent content of 6%,7%and 8%,substituting the equivalent amount of mineral filler.The optimal asphalt content of epoxy asphalt mixture(EAM)and SBS asphalt mixture(SAM)was determined through Marshall test.Experiments were carried out to test the road engineering performances of asphalt mixture with snow-melting agent,which was compared with the road performance of asphalt mixture without snow-melting agent.Secondly,experiments were carried out to test the deicing and snow melting performances of epoxy asphalt mixture with the snow-melting agent.On this basis,the deicing and snow melting mechanism of deicing and snow melting agent in deicing and snow melting asphalt mixture was analyzed.Finally,the precipitation characteristics of epoxy asphalt mixture with snow-melting agent were studied.The precipitation process of salt in the epoxy asphalt mixture containing snow melting agent is established.The load,temperature,weather and seasonal factors was considered to establish long-term performance evaluation model for melting snow and ice.
