Energy has attracted the worldwide concern,which will further grow in the future in the context of globalization.Yet,wave energy also highlights itself as a kind of new energy for its enormous reserve and environmental friendliness.Subsequently,the conversion technologies as well as various conversion devices of wave energy have been invented.Direct-drive wave energy conversion device can convert wave energy directly into electric energy without complex intermediate conversion agency.This improvement of conversion mode can streamline the procedures,increase the efficiency and ultimately reduce the production cost.The direct-drive wave energy conversion device has been applied in the permanent magnet linear generator which represents a milestone in the exploration of wave energy.The thesis begins with the introduction of the significance of wave energy and the research background.It reviews the existing wave energy conversion devices at home and abroad as well as their operational principles and characteristics.Accordingly,the author presents the feasibility and promising prospect of wave energy and points out the research subject.This thesis proposes a Double-Sided Tubular Permanent magnet Linear Generator based on the technology of direct-drive wave energy generation.It expounds the linear generation and establishes an electromagnetic system,based on which a set of calculation program written in Mathematica software is designed to measure the performance of the generator.Furthermore,the thesis takes the Archimedes Wave Swing as the prototype to conduct the Electromagnetic finite element simulation.By establishing the finite element model which is approximate to the actual data,we can simulate the Double-Sided Tubular Permanent magnet Linear Generator.The comparison between the simulation results and the Mathematica calculations can be used to testify the accuracy of computing program.At the end,the thesis proposes the optimal design of the new generator and the appropriate inner and outer diameters which will lead to the high flux efficiency and compact size.In addition,the further improvement of the generator design is also presented.
