With the continuously increasing of power demand, and the pressure of resources and environment becoming increasingly prominent, the nuclear power development becomes the new direction of China's energy policy. Due to the advantages of low construction cost and small footprint per kilowatt, the large capacity turbine generators have been rapid developed and applied in the world. Current researches on the generator stator frame stiffness and strength are basically on the units below million-kilowatt, and some studies lack of the necessary tests, which is difficult to effectively ensure the safety of the generator. Because of safety of nuclear power generators, the stiffness and strength study proposes a higher demand.The stiffness and strength of 1100 MW nuclear half-speed turbine generator stator frame form Shanghai power generator plant is calculated and tested by using ANSYS finite element parametric method and electrometric method in this paper.First, the stiffness and strength of stator frame at still, test, installation and rating operation are calculated. Then, the stiffness and strength of stator frame at test are measured. Last, the influencing factors on stiffness and strength of stator frame are calculated to research the influence of stator frame components' parameters.By comparing the results of calculation with the results of the test, the calculation value and test value of stator frame stiffness and strength are basically matched, which proves the accuracy of finite element model, and it also proves that the design of frame stiffness and strength meets the generator operation requirements.The method studied on stiffness and strength of large nuclear half-speed turbine generator stator frame can also provide a reference for structure design of other turbo generator stator frame.
