In this paper,three diffrent star-shaped hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymers were synthsized through the “core-fisrt” way by a relatively new polymerization method,which was called Single Electron Transfer Living Radical Polymerization?SET-LRP?,and made a research on reaction factors and solution property of polymers,the main contents are as following:1.The tris?2-dimethylaminoethy?amine was synthesized by using tris?2-aminoethyl?amine,formaldehyde and methanoic acid as the monomers.And the products were characterized via FT-IR and 1H NMR.The results showed that the products which synthesized were target products.2.The star-shaped macromolecular initiator PT-Br was synthsized with pentaerythritol,tetrahydrofuran and triethylamine as raw materials and acidylated by 2-bromopropionyl bromide.The results showed that the products which synthesized were target products.3.The star-shaped hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymers as P?AM-co-NtBA?and P?AM/NtBA/NaAMPS?was synthesized by SET-LRP in aqueous solution polymerization,CCl4 and PT-Br as the multifunctional initiator,Cu0 and Me6-TREN as catalytic system.The target products were identified by infrared spectrum and nuclear magnetic resonance.The influence of experimental conditions on the molecule weight were investigated by the control variate method thoroughly.The maximum molecular weight of the star-shaped P?AM-co-NtBA?was used CCl4 as nuclear can reach up to 1.89 million,and which was used PT-Br as nuclear can reach up to 2.14 million.The maximum molecular weight of the star-shaped P?AM/NtBA/NaAMPS?was used PT-Br as nuclear can reach up to2.23 million.And ln?[M]0/[M]?and time also showed good linear relationship which performed first-order kinetics.This indicated that the polymerization was a living polymerization.4.The temperature resistance and salt tolerance of star-shaped hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymers were studied by measuring the apparent viscosity of polymer solution under different temperature and salt concentration.Experiental results show that the solution property of star-shaped hydrophobically associating water-soluble polymers was similar to the line-shaped polymer.But look from the apparent viscosity,star-shaped polymer salt resistance of heat-resistant slightly better than the linear polymers.And with the increase of temperature and salt concentration,the apparent viscosity of polymer solution showed a trend of decline.In addition,the effect of CaCl2 on the apparent viscosity of thehydrophobically associating polyacrylamide was more significant than NaCl.
