Linux and embedded systems are two important branches in the development of computer science and technology. In recent years, the embedded Linux system application which combined of both systems has been developing rapidly, it has become a hot spot in computer academic field. With the rapid development of multimedia, electronic and network technology, the development of video surveillance system has begun toward to digital, networked, embedded and intelligent direction. Due to small size, stable performance, low cost, convenient communication, embedded video surveillance system became widely used monitoring equipment in the current video surveillance field.In this paper, on S3C2440 development platform,a network video monitoring system which can be accessed via WIFI and the WEB is designed and implemented based on embedded Linux system. And the discussion and study about fuzzy image restoration technology of digital image processing technology are given.Firstly, this paper gives a brief introduction to the relevant knowledge of ARM processor, S3C2440 mini development board, Linux operating systems, embedded Linux operating system and the underlying knowledge, the build of embedded Linux development platform and cross-compiler environment. Secondly, the paper describes the Boot Loader and its principle, Linux kernel compilation, the whole making process of the root file system, the u-boot kernel image programming and root file system, the method of programming Linux system to the development board. The CMOS camera driver is designed based on the embedded Linux system which is loaded into the system and running, and the WIFI module is loaded. The paper describes how to compile and install MJPG-streamer. A network video monitoring system which can be accessed through WIFI and WEB is implemented based on ARM9 processor as the core control on-chip system. Finally, the discussion and study about fuzzy image restoration algorithm of digital image processing technology are given. And application of the algorithm in this video surveillance system is described.
