Redundancy elimination is an important research direction of current WAN optimization. It could be optimized effectively enhance the transmission efficiency. The main process to redundancy elimination: First, packets which transmitted in the WAN is stored in the cache; and translate the contents in the cache into the dictionary; finally dictionary is used to compression and decompression. It could improved the WAN transmission efficiency.This paper researched on the key technologies of the WAN optimization. Designed and implemented a WAN transmission optimize system based on redundancy elimination, called WOC(WAN optimization controller), WOC eliminate redundant data with high-speed network environment for network data packets in real time, eliminating redundant during transmission data, saving bandwidth resources. Paper include the following:1. Depends on the WAN transmission bottlenecks encountered in many various analyzes, finally adopted on elimination of redundant data dictionary for WAN optimization technology. 2. For the more cache demands, difficult to the cache manage and hard to search, proposed a multi-level cache management strategy, the packet buffer cache is divided into three level, which will easy to find a data structure in the cache. And proposed priority-based degradation cache replacement algorithm. The cache of its repeat hits is considered as priority and add priority degradation mechanisms. 3. Proposed adaptive dynamic cache selection algorithms. WOC cache selection algorithm, using application-layer protocol and historical statistics, dynamically selecting sampling parameters, to achieve a more efficient fingerprint cache utilization. 4. Considering the memory utilization, system transparency, real-time and follow-up functions optimized, designed a hierarchical system. Hierarchical systems is easy to manage, and use an efficient cache synchronization algorithm, simplifies the receiving end system. 5. Implemented redundancy elimination WAN optimization system. Test results show that the system can correct and more efficient to detect and eliminate redundant data which is transport in transmission link.
