Research And Implementation Of Home Monitoring System Based On Android

With the rapid development of the Internet of things technology and the improvement of people’s living standard, people have a higher request for the safety and intelligence of their living environment. So they are eager to install the smart home monitoring system. Because smart home technology is still in the development stage, the home monitoring system with moderate price, safe, reliable,stable and complete function will be really competitive in the market.This paper proposes a solution to set up the monitoring system by using Android and Zigbee technology. This solution is applied to acquisition and monitoring of the sensing data(temperature and humidity, light, smoke and infrared) and the multimedia data(image, vedio and audio) in the house. The system is divided into four parts: Zigbee wireless sensor network module, gateway module, indoor Android App and outdoor Android App. Zigbee wireless sensor network module is mainly responsible for acquisition of the indoor sensing data. Zigbee coordinator manages each Zigbee node. The gateway module is mainly responsible for data conversion of Zigbee network in the house and cellular network out of house. This paper compares three data conversion chips: IOIO serial to USB module, IOIO serial to Bluetooth module and USR-WIFI232-T serial to wifi module. By the test, we finally choose USR-WIFI232-T serial to wifi module as the gateway module in this system. The indoor Android App provides the functions of active query Zigbee node information, realtime monitoring of Zigbee node information, management of Zigbee node and management of remote mobile phone in the house. The outdoor Android App provides the functions of active query Zigbee node information, realtime monitoring of risk data, image,vedio and audio out of house. Thia paper introduces in detail the above function through the modular of UI, the modular of data format, the modular of communication and the modular of data storage. We can alse monitor the information of the picture, the vedeo and the voice by multimedia information monitoring function. The information of the picture and the vedio is transferred by email. The function of monitoring voice is realized by a vulnerability in Android system that is automatic answering telephone. After the system test, it proved that the intelligent monitoring system is a simple,stable solution, and it meets the demand of the customers.
