Football, the world’s first sport in the world, is one of the world’s top football tournament and the top two tournament. The World Cup held every four years, each time it bursts off the football frenzy worldwide, so we can say that the World Cup is of great research value. With the continuous understanding of the sports event and the ever-deepening desire to learn more about the game, the frequency of game rebroadcasting has increased. Today, the whole community has fully entered into the era of the Omnimedia, which has a world-wide advantages in terms of football matches. Compared with the traditional media, online media enjoys the advantages of rapidity and comprehensiveness in the dissemination of information, which makes football favored by many sports fans. The influence of online media becomes increasingly significant and should not be overlooked. So Based on Sina’s reports of 2014 World Cup, this paper will take a deep look into Sina’s report pattern and features so as to make a certain value both in academic and practice.This paper selects Sina’s reports of 2014 World Cup in Brazil as the object of study to analyze, covers every angle from the communicators, the mode of transmission, the dissemination of content to the audience, in order to take a intensive study of Sina’s reports of 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The paper mianly discusses the general situation, the development process and the propagation characteristics by using documentary analysis, case analysis and content analysis.This study suggests that the reason of Sina’s distinctive reports of Brazil World Cup lies in the audience-centered reporting idea of Sina’s sports report. The innovation is that this paper applies the agenda setting theory, uses and gratification theory to analyze ther characteristics of 2014 World Cup, thus reflects Sina’s reporting style to combine professionality with entertainment. In the era of Omnimedia, online media news reports are merging into the media convergence. Therefore, this study hopes to provide reference for the online media reports of sports events by analyzing Sina’s reports of 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
