One of the characteristics of digital signal processing is stochastic.In the traditional communication syste design, this feature does not have to be a good utilization.The communication system in the traditional communication designs are accurate calculation.In fact,it is enough for communication signal processing algorithms to guarantee the statistical properties of the calculation results.For example, Body area network communication using local synchronization sequence correlation operation for detecting the header and carrier frequency offset detection, for short-range communication system and a single carrier, the carrier frequency offset estimation can be omitted, so only need to detect the header, the relevant results accuracy of less demanding, as long as you can determine the peak.As for communication system, one of the characteristics of digital signal processing is stochastic.In the traditional communication system design, this feature does not have to be a good utilization.The computing units in the traditional communication design are accurate calculation.In fact,it is enough for communication signal processing algorithms to guarantee the statistical properties of the calculation results.For example, body area network communication using local synchronization sequence correlation operation for detecting the header and carrier frequency offset detection, for short-range and single carrier communication system,estimated carrier frequency offset can be omitted. We only need to find the peak which is the begining of a symbol,the exact value is not so important.This paper designed a multiplier based on the idea of stochastic calculation, compared to traditional arithmetic multiplier,the stochastic multiplier had advantage on the area,power consumption.This paper also use the stochastic multiplier to replace the traditional multiplier in the correlator,which is used in body area network receiver synchronization module.The simulation shows that in different standard,the correlator based on the stochastic multiplier can work as well as the traditional one,but cost less area and power consumption.
