Along with the progress of the computer technology, control system simulation has become an essential part of the development of a control system. Through simulation, designers can find out an optimal control scheme for the controlled object model which we were identified. But, if the scheme really applied in real system, the effect may not good enough, we need repeated even to modify the design. Semi-physical simulation system has a real hardware in the loop so that we can get control scheme which really can be used within the simulation stage.Through the literature review, compared with all kinds of semi-physical simulation system design, this paper proposes a kind of semi-physical simulation system based on MATLAB RTW real-time toolbox. With the environment of MATLAB and combine with the advantage of off-line simulation and real-time simulation, we can easily implement real-time control with our simulation system. The simulation system we designed has a real controlled object, it is a double cavity electric heating. We set control strategy in the MATLAB Simulation environment. With this we can realize the whole control system simulation.The paper introduces the overall hardware design of the semi-physical simulation system. We use MATLAB Simulink RTW toolbox as the whole system software platform, and then use the thyristor module to control the double cavity electric heating, electric heating temperature is collected by Pt100platinum resistance, and using PCL-812PG data acquisition card for input and output A/D&D/A conversion, all of signals process in the signal disposal box which is designed in the paper.Through the semi-physical simulation system, we design a series of experiments, including the identification of the controlled object, PID control and so on. We designed a fuzzy PID controler in order to improve the control effect. All of experiments obtained good control effects. Because of the simulation system designed to be an experimental platform, control strategy can be created by the designer, there will be a large innovation space for designers.Along with the semi-physical simulation technology further popularization, the experimental platform can improve the laboratory construction.
