Research And Design Of Cloud Storage Billing System

Cloud storage is a cloud computing system whose core is data storage and management. It collects large number of heterogeneous network storage devices to provide data storage and business access service by clustering applications, grid, distributed file system and many other technologies. With more and more widespread use of cloud storage, its billing system has become a hot issue which is needed to be resolved urgently. A reasonable cloud storage billing system can not only improve resource utilization for cloud storage service providers and reduce operational costs, but also help users to get get-demand and on-demand billing storage service. It is the key to the further development of cloud storage.Through research and analysis of existing billing model of cloud computing and other network service, a complete set of cloud storage billing architecture was put forward in this thesis, according to the characteristics of cloud storage; Then on the basis a reasonable and effective charging strategy was presented. Afterwards a cloud storage billing system was designed and implemented. The functions of this system were tested. The main work is as follows:For difficulties such as requirement of high degree of parts integration of cloud storage billing service, charging high performance requirements, greater flexibility in pricing and billing, architecture of cloud storage billing service was put forward. The architecture is divided into three layers:support layer, business management layer and presentation layer. The functions of support layer are the billing data reception, data processing and data access. The functions of business management layer are billing, charging strategy control, data analysis and statistics. The functions of presentation layer are billing billing inquiries and charging strategy management.Based on the architecture of cloud storage billing service, a reasonable charging strategy was presented, which combined with time-based, content-based, traffic-based and other charging models, contained with a variety of data collection strategies, and took user’s real-time storage space, data transmission traffic, the number of successful HTTP requests as billing factors. Meanwhile, a variety of billing packages were designed to optimize the billing solutions for different types of services under the cloud storage infrastructure.On the basis of these studies on model approach mentioned above, a private cloud computing platform based on OpenStack was set up. Then the cloud storage billing system was designed and implemented for its cloud storage service which was called Swift. The billing system included seven modules:data gather module, raw billing data storage module, billing data generation module, user management module, billing query module, billing package management module, storage application module. After deployment and test was carried out, experimental results show that the designed system architecture and charging strategy had relatively accurate effect.
