It is a mandatory requirement from China Mobile Communication that five network modes including TD-SCDMA (Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) has to be supported by its4G smart phone. For the4G baseband processor that does not support TD-SCDMA, integrating the mature TD-SCDMA solutions to the existing platform is very important and meaningful.In this thesis, integration of mature TD-SCDMA baseband chips including hardware and software into an ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) based multi-mode mobile baseband SoC (System on Chip) is analyzed and implemented. For the TD-SCDMA baseband chips, only the implementation of the DSP (digital signal processor) chip hardware and physical layer software are retained, and the protocol stack of TD-SCDMA is ported to the existing platform within ARM processor.The following main tasks are implemented in this thesis:1) According to the system solution of hardware and software, the overall architecture and the main architecture of realizing the TD-SCDMA integration into multi-mode baseband are analyzed and designed.2) TD-SCDMA protocol layer driver which is based on shared memory interface is designed and implemented to support the inter-chip communication between physical layer and high level protocol stack.3) The integration of the TD-SCDMA high-level protocol software is designed and implemented, including the adaptations for the protocol stack, real time operation system, trace interface etc.4) Based on development board of this solution, TD-SCDMA functions, performances and stabilities are tested, and the test results are evaluated.In this thesis, a kind of shared memory based TD-SCDMA integration solution is designed and implemented, which has high integration level, low cost, low power consumption, and stable performance. It’s not only an important practice on the integration of TD-SCDMA, but also a guide to the integration of other network mode chip.
