Objective:In order to understand the development of modernpediatrics in our country, this subject selected literatures included inPubMed, the most authoritative biomedical databases, as well as publishedby pediatric hospitals to do an analysis. It shows the development ofspecialized medical model of domestic and international pediatrichospitals, and reveals the origin, nature, form and content of pediatricresearch studies. Further more, it also shows the promoting function ofsuch literatures have on the development of post-modern pediatrics.Methods:Bibliometric methods are used to analyze the production ofpediatric hospitals, organizations, nationalities, journals, spectrum ofdisease, languages, keywords and so on through the literatures included inPubMed and published by pediatric hospitals.Results:By December31,2013, a total of128,849papers have beenpublished by pediatric hospitals, of which71701by U.S,11741byAustralia,7481by Canada. In the analysis of its cities, Boston published26754, Philadelphia published9541and Cincinnati published8801papers. 4627papers have been published by domestic pediatric hospitals,of which939by China Taiwan,770by Zhejiang,728by Shanghai,606by Beijingand542by Chongqing. In the institutional analysis, United StatesChildren’s Hospital of Philadelphia published16087, Harvard Medicalschool published6685, Royal Melbourne children’s Hospital published5707. In the department analysis, pathology department published1825and pediatric surgery department published1739. Of all the128,849papers,126390are in English,1684are in Chinese,497are in Japanese. Inthe analysis of spectrum of disease,8642are about infection,4616areabout stomatology and2418are about diabetes. In the analysis of types ofthe articles,20910are literatures,20435are case reporting,8206are aboutclinical trial. In the keywords distribution analysis of24365are cohortstudy and14952are prognosis analysis study,14231are about tumorstudy. In the analysis of the band of these periodicals, J Pediatr Surgpublished2857,Pediatrics published2383, J Pediatr published1944. Inthe analysis of Chinese periodicals, zhonghua Er Ke Za Zhi published480,Zhongguo Dang Dai Er Ke Za Zhi published374, Zhonghua Yi Xue ZaZhi published100. The earliest paper was published by Children’sHospital of Paris in1941.Conclusion:This analysis shows the scientific level of foreign anddomestic experts in the field of Pediatrics and reveals the distributioncharacters of articles published by Children’s Hospitals. It reflects the scope of its research in the field of children’s diseases, in order to reflectthe progressive development of Pediatrics, which provides a guideline forthe development of Pediatrics in our country. This study of these articlescan show the growth conditions of pediatric hospitals and growth processof Pediatrics experts team, and try to reveal the changes of scientificresearch strength of institutions in each region.
