Changes In Ordos Mongolian Wedding Custom From Communication View

Wedding custom as an epitome of the history of a nationality or a region is traditional and mass with remarkable national feature and local flavor, and limited by social and historical conditions, no matter which nationality it originates from. Changes of wedding culture should attribute to many factors, in which communication may play an important role.This paper, taking Etuokeqianqi as the studying subject, will investigate and clear up by fieldwork the evolution of Mongolian wedding custom in Ordos from the communication view, and then check and analyze the effect that communication has on this process.The paper is divided into three parts. Part one will introduce the tradition of Mongolian wedding custom in Ordos and review some important agendas through the whole wedding. Three chapters constitute Part two. This part will divide the history of Mongolian wedding custom within almost 70 years from 1947 to 2015 into three periods. The first period, from 1947 to 1966, will inspect the factual situations of this kind of wedding custom at that time. Its interruption at that special age from 1966 to 1978 will be introduced in the second period. And then the third period will present its revival at the new age from 1978 to 2015. The last part will put emphasis on the analysis of the effect that communications including interpersonal communication, organizational communication and mass communication bring about on the changes of Mongolian wedding custom from the communication angle. Among these three kinds of communication, the effect of interpersonal communication is constant and dominant, organizational communication is positive or negative in the different historical periods, and mass communication accelerate the revival of Mongolian wedding custom.
